well the most interesting is "the star spangled subligar", try googling it.
Pretty sure that this is supposed to alude to chiggers, a type of mite.
FFXI had "Chigoe", for the same reason.
Buoyant Oviform (something that has buoyancy + ovi (Latin word for egg) form). Very interesting the lengths they go to in order to make these names.
Or Rusty Scutum
Anyone please remind me the names of Hunt monster B Rank in Hinterland for me ?
I always thought it was funny, the mob Pugil. When I am grouped with a PGL I ask them if they are related.
MANTASTIC: I got 1017 problems, but playing FFXIV ain't one.
Llyren: Lala Tanks hit point density levels attract small planets
I think throughout the course of Final Fantasy (and some other RPGs), the creators love to use European terminology for a lot of stuff. For instance, when I used to play Breath of Fire 3 and 4, I thought "Kaiser" was exclusive to that game alone. It wasn't until later I learned that a Kaiser is simply a European emperor or king. They could have called it the Mikado Dragon and had the same effect. I know in FF9, the main character's name (Zidane) is actually common in Europe, and there's a famous soccer player with that name.
I love to geek out over naming schemes, they're so fun.
