    Requesting Gear TIPS for PLD Savage progression

    Hi guys,
    I am playing role for PLD/DRK in my static group.
    We are still gearing up for Savage A1. I managed to get iLv190 for PLD and iLv186 for DRK.

    Our static setup is
    Tank: PLD/PLD (me, can switch to DRK)
    Healer: AST/WHM
    DPS: BLM/DRG

    Here is the gear I got so far.
    PLD/DRK
    1H: ilv190 (both DRK/PLD with rav weapon)
    2H: ilv190 (PLD shield)
    Head: ilv190
    Chest: ilv200 / iLv185 for DRK
    Leg: ilv190
    feet: ilv190

    Belt: iLv190
    Acc: all ilv190 with STR/VIT switchable

    Question 1:
    Should i upgrade my DRK weapon to ilv200 one or work on Armour? I know upgrading weapon for DPS and Healer (maybe not?) but not sure if it is the case for PLD or DRK. If it is ok i would like to save it for my armour/acc and work on relic when the comes out.
    Question 2:
    What combination of acc is good for PLD for savage progression? Currently I have put all points on STR. I am not sure what sort of DPS is required for Tanks (MT or OT) for savage progression.

    Get the ilvl200 weapon.

    Replace one of the Paladins with the required class: Warrior. Your literally making the mob do 10% more damage to you and the raid because of this.

    Hmm so DRK is not as good as WAR? I know war can do more DPS but is it really necessary? I don't want to level up WAR too if I can avoid it...

    DRK can't make the raid take 10% less damage forever. DRK also lacks the DPS War does.

    U need warrior, just do it. Not just for path but eye, dmg. Warrior on a2 with decimat/berserk/OP just reks everything.

    Oh well there goes my next 2 weeks leveling up. QQ I thought DRG/PLD/SMN should do it for a while but nooooooooo....

    It doesn't matter what composition you go with as long as your group can push the Oppressor to 60% HP before Oppressor 0.5 appears. If your four DPS have their i200 Weapons and you still can't push him past the 60% mark then you may want to temporarily switch to DRK for the extra 200 DPS. That being said you'll eventually over gear the fight and can switch back to PLD.


    Best case scenario is both Tanks grabbing a set of i150 Slaying Accessories and penta-melding them with +155 Strength, +140 Vitality. This should allow each PLD to do about 440 - 460 DPS (without the i200 Weapon). A1 should be absolutely no problem with two Paladins. I'm curious what jobs the other two DPS in your static are however. If you have a Summoner the A2 enrage is a piece of cake with Bane; no WAR or DRK required.


    Life will be easier with only one Paladin but it's not like a Warrior can hit both bosses in A1 with Storms Path or every add in A2.

    This really depends on how much DPS your group is able to dish out. It sounds like you haven't entered A1 Savage yet; and Faust (the Gatekeeper) will be a pretty good indication of whether or not you need to switch to DRK and buy a Weapon. I haven't bought my Weapon yet on PLD; but our groups DPS is beating enrage by a large margin in A1 and A2.

    Yeah I have entered A1 Savage several time with PUG and brought Faust down to 3% (PLD/DRK) while i am waiting for our static group to gear up.
    It was several week ago so most of us had ilv190 weapon. I hope we can try savage this weekend with our static group for the first time! very exciting!
