A Good Friend Gone: In memory of Darkstar Poet (Excalibur NA)

Darkstar Poet, a long-time player of FFXIV, sadly passed away unexpectedly this past weekend. He was only 37. Darkstar Poet was someone who not only appreciated and drew happiness from playing FFXIV, but also saw what many of the original Legacy players know as the "epic" feeling of an MMO.

Darkstar Poet was more than just a player. To him it was about sharing the experiences of exploration and adventure with the people you had come to meet in the game. That is what I loved about him.

To the Excalibur community I write this letter in memory and appreciation of Darkstar Poet, one of the most serious and loving players of the FF series I have ever met. God bless you Poet, and not only will you be missed, but also may you never be forgotten by the people who were happier playing because of you.

For those who knew Darkstar Poet, he was of the utmost dedicated to the game. In some instances he would lose sleep just to make it to that next NM fight (for those who remember mid-legacy days). He was what the Excalibur community knows as a hard-core player.

I just informed all of our members about his passing, he was a good friend to us all in our FC Crystal Knights, I was worried something may have happened to him because he was never offline for more than 2 or so days.. then i come on forums and find this, what a sad day for us all, on behalf of everyone in CK, rest in peace our friend, you will be missed!
