For the love of god stop with this obnoxious feature. There isn't a single reason for the game to have you sort through you inventory to automaticly place something in it or taking it out.

I have mine setup so all gear goes into inventory, works alot better that way

The problem most of the time is with accessories. What it is, the games takes off the gear first and then places the new gear from the Gear Set. If there is no room, it will give that error. If the new Gear Set doesn't change anything but the weapon, the game will allow it as long as the rings are placed in the exact same places.

Trust me, I'm plagued by this error 90% of the time so I found ways around it and still be full.

Actually, this reminds me of a quality of life idea I had a few days ago.

SE: Please allow us to glamour straight from our retainer inventories. This can be made easier as well by adding a search function to the glamour window! Not only will it free up some of that precious inventory space, it'll also be a welcome change from having to remove item, glamour item, THEN remember to put the item away, lol. Or worse, having to shuffle items to make room just to grab the one you need for glamour :P

I find its mostly the rings that cause this. If they would even up the size of the ring invetory, I dont think I would ever see this message.

The biggest annoyance with this is that it basically limits your ring space to 23 slots and others to 24 when switching to a job that doesn't share gear. The game isn't able to swap between items directly, it needs a slot for both items in question, the one you are currently holding and the one you are switching to.

What about giving each category a hidden slot for when changing gear that you can't use when adding gear to chest?

Yes, this problem is very annoying and it is almost always the rings. One way I go around this is to switch to a different role that has none of the items on their person, then switch to the role you want.
