GMs - Where is housing info?

GMs -

I believe one of you had stated we'd be getting new wards before 3.05 was implemented, but nothing ever came of it.

Housing seems to be quite a concern with your player base and it seems to be largely ignored by SE.

Can a GM please answer the following:

1. When are new wards being made available, or when do you THINK they will be?
2. When is the MOVE feature being implemented that was talked about, about a year ago?
3. When is sharing of houses being implemented?

Do they even look at the housing forum? I haven't seen a GM response to anything in here.

Who knows, they probably don't because it seems like unless it is posted in the "General Forum" with a ton of views and responses they don't figure they need to answer anything sadly

I read in the japanese forums for housing that apparently on Live Letter XXIII they'll mention something about the "moving" feature (someone complained that their FC wanted to move to a larger house, but noticed if they dismantle their house and buy a new one the workshop will loose its advance and ships will need to be broken down and they don't want that) so a community rep pitched in and mentioned that about the live letter:

And thats about it... just that we'll hear something. And last we heard there will be no new housing zones till thats completed (according to the previous live letter), because apparently it would be "unfair" to people that already have housing not to be able to move to ishgard housing area if they wanted to... Screw the hundreds of thousands of players that don't yet have a personal/free company house yet.

So don't hold your breath.

They mentioned a bunch of housing stuff last week during Gamescon on August 6, 2015.

MMORPG.de: A lot of players complain about the housing situation. They want to buy a house, but it is impossible to find free plots on some worlds. Are there any plans to improve the situation?

NY: Yes, we are working on it, and there are three phases. The first step is working on abandoned houses, so there’s no owner, or player there actually. The second step is to make it available to players that they can move house. There is no system in game yet that can help you to change the house, so we want to help and support this in the game. With these two steps we will be able to have some empty plots. Then we want to see if we have to open up an Ishgard plot or add more plot to the existing areas. That is the third step. We want to be careful here and judge the situation first. We are working on step 1 and 2 already. There will be some updates, probably in patches 3.1 to 3.15, around this time.


So pretty much they are going to work on abandoned houses and the moving feature first. These may be implemented in 3.1 or 3.15.

They will add Ishgard plots or add more plots to the current housing areas in the future, no date / patch set yet.

They never said they were adding new plots in 3.05 AFAIK. They only said they were going to add more plots after Heavenwards release, but some players started throwing out random patch numbers, and others believed them or whatever.

What they should have implemented is ONE house per ACCOUNT, shared between your characters. I see soo many posts about people selling houses, that they have multiple plot for sale etc, when some people dont even have housing yet.

I can't agree with this more. I recently spoke to someone on Balmung who was planning to buy two of the Large plots the moment they're available on our server, and he didn't seem to think there was anything inconsiderate about that. People tend to think they're entitled to whatever they can fund with their gil. And there's also kind of a real estate market operating where people purchase lots just to resell them at a profit. I know because I had a conversation with someone who was a professional lot seller a few days ago.

Hopefully SE can address this by putting some strictures in place.
