Great Patch!

This patch is epic! I spent around 70 anima getting my damn chocobo for all of those copy-paste quests though... Then after that 15 fellow ls members took on a stronghold and were getting like 50k xp an hour not even trying to get xp... We were trying to kill flamefist. This patch made me actually want to play. SE encouraging party play vs solo play is a great thing imo

You are being rude if you need to start the sentence saying "Dont mean to sound rude", Gear for your class and rank set the right skill's and try out the patch abit longer.

I was rank 8, wearing rank 1 starter gear. I was equipped with a WS, bloodbath, second wind, heavy thrust and something else I can't remember. This char is rather new and doesn't have a ton of skills unlocked, but what I have should be MORE than sufficient. I can't afford rank 8 gear because everyone in the wards jacked up their prices even higher now that everyone has to trash their old gear. However, rank 1 weathered gear is still decent at level 8 and in no way should I have as many issues soloing because of it.

Maybe wear gear for your level? and it would hit less? if the optimal level is red then you shit out of luck. get yourself gear for your level and mob don't hit hard i'm on a 16 class without issue.

See above, I know how to play the game. Been playing since launch, just started a new character recently when I came back. They hit harder than pre-patch by far. Anyone who doesn't see that is blind. It's not just them hitting harder though, it's the fact that battles take FAR longer for less sp rewards at low levels.

sadly that being gimp sorry you most get level 8+ gear for yourself but i agree the market ward price is killing the low level gear. But now that everything is easy to make it be better within a few weeks.

Which goes to say, as I have been trying to say, patience young padawan. Feel out the patch. These things take time.

it's gimp to have gear 7 levels below your rank now? So I'm required to update all of my gear every 5 levels or so? Seeing as how there is very little gear that comes from quests leves, that seems like a pretty ridiculous idea to me. Not to mention it doesn't explain why my level 21 pug was having such difficulty killing on-rank mobs in all optimal gear during leves. If gear is so crucial, I should have been mopping the floor with those mobs, yet they consistently took me down to yellow-red HP even after second wind and bloodbath.

At low level it does not really matter much about gear it matter but not a great lot. The more you go on the more gear matter is the more you have to buy gear for your level.

K, well you kinda just proved my point. If gear isn't a big factor at low levels, then I shouldn't have had any issues soloing at low levels, yet I did. It's insanely slow and requires rest between every couple of battles unless you are fighting stuff so low that it just doesn't matter, and in that case the exp rewards are crap.

You know what wasn't fun? Playing THM and realizing your debuffs are completely useless and a waste of time during party / leve EXP dynamics because by the time you draw your weapon out to even cast something like slow or paralyze, the enemy was dead and you were sitting with like a 1 minute (or whatever it is) recast.

On the melee side, it was no different. In a party of 4-6 mobs would die so fast. it's really not fun if you don't feel like you've put in anything for your EXP. I'm so happy about this change.

yeah they do need to adjust the battle scheme to this game....
