Trying to decide on a PST server

So I'm new to this game (still on trial account and getting ready to buy full game today) and found out after creating my character that the time of the server I was on doesn't exactly match up with Pacific time. It's actually way off, lol.

I asked Reddit what a good PST server was but they were no help, so here I am!

Any suggestions on a good PST server?

There are no time zones for any servers, just regions (NA, EU, JPN). I believe server time for all servers is set to Japan. Anyway, it has no relation to the active times for any of the servers so just make sure you are on one for your region.

Sargatanas is really busy from 3pm to 11pm PST so that might be a good one to join

Any servers in the Primal or Aether data centers (which includes Exodus) are NA servers. They're physically located in Montreal, I believe.

I generally recommend Balmung. It's a bit hard to get onto, but it has a very lively community. Want to do endgame, it's got endgame. Want to just relax and RP, it's got that too. Crafting your ticket and you want to be a gillionaire? There's some competition but the markets are booming, moving, and there are plenty of crafting mentors to help you on your way to your fortune. Like to see some player run events or just have fun messing around with dance emotes around the moonfire fair areas? Sync up and hop right in.

The catch is, well, it really is pretty crowded. Getting in usually requires staying up till 4am on a weekday or something crazy like that. If you do decide you want to join, use the in game sever list as it updates by the minute (vs the lodestone's several hours). And maybe post here if you'd like any help getting started.
