Unuseable Gear...

So I've been wondering what to do... first few pieces that were NOT untradeable/unique I listed for sale, frankly, at the rate of Gil acquisition, not sure this is the best way to go.

Was told at some point to "sell" it to my GC Quartermaster for seals... sounded like a plan. Took a while to figure out "Expert Delivery" is what to engage with (huh?). Also surprised to find that I do NOT have to travel to the GC Home, any guildleve guy can do the same (hooray!). HOWEVER, there is an issue...

I get that even untradeable stuff is fair game here, I had worried it would not be. BUT there were a few pieces of gear that for all I could tell, SHOULD have "sold" but they were not listed by the QM.

Am I correct in thinking that it simply means the GC is NOT interested in such gear? And, if so, might they ever be in the future?

For Expert Delivery, only colored gear (gear which has its name and icon display as a certain color - green, blue, pink) is of interest to the QM. And even then, some colored gear is unable to be turned into the QM.

Beyond that, I have heard that what you can turn in via Expert Delivery is also dependent on your current rank within the GC. If this is true, as you achieve higher GC ranks, you should find more and more items available to be turned in.

Ha, already ran into the "rank gotcha." One needs seals to rank up, BUT I had to grind out 25 guild leves to get to be able to do the 30 & 35 guild leves... even post 40! As for colors, I DO see Aetherial gear being pink (background of gear icon)... and it frequently is better than gear several ilvls higher. Not sure I've seen other colors... or are you referring to the thin vertical bars of color on one's character sheet next to each piece of gear (I wondered what those meant)?

Those represent your gear's condition. (It's shown as an actual % number in the gear's tooltip, but those bars in your character sheet give you a quick at-a-glance view of all your gear at once.)

The whole background of the gear icon. Pink back ground (aertherial gear), green (dungeon gear) or blue (tomestone gear). Then there is purple for relic gear. The regular gear is referred to as white gear, no back ground color.
