I think what he is meaning by DPS check is that it don't matter if you wear I90 or I300. If you can't play jump rope or rotate your skills right. You still suck and can wipe. Or you can be an i90 player and be better than an I300 player.

You know, that's the reason why only Arcanist branches into 2 jobs, the development team realized it was a pain in the ass to balance both SCH and SMN because they shared most of their abilities.

And, just to be clear if I write "best" (with quotation mark) it's exactly because people CLAIMS that this is the "best", even though a lot of people beg to differ.

Actually there was nothing last minute about Scholar. Arcanist was the beta trial for the Class Split mechanic they were teasing since Legacy days. They came out with the Jobs, they did not like how limiting it made design, so Arcanist remains the only Class that can split into two jobs for that reason.

I'm not sure I like any of the tank jobs currently. Dark Knight has a lot of weird design choices that make me question how much thought was put into it, Paladin is still the typical sword and board 'tanky' tank (snooze mode), and Warrior getting a dps stance and encouraging role segregation for jobs is pretty up there on the 'meh' scale.

I do, however, like tanking so it's whatever I have to play to get the job done for best performance in group.

That's a fine desire, it's just not going to happen in this game. What are hoping to achieve with this post? You will not convince the design team to redesign the game to support specializations, so, as far as I can tell, this is just peeing into the wind. Just because you have an opinion does not mean you should share it when sharing it will have no realistic outcome.

There's no point in this because sadly everything that has to do with battle content is in duty finder there's no open world content that would need something like this. We first need real end game open world content then we need stuff that will never see duty finder.

What does open world content have to do with specializations? People seem to think adding more open world content will fix some of the issues with the endgame. Given that OPW is just as static as instanced content, I'm not sure people are thinking this through.

Why do you feel that adding more to this game would be a bad thing?
