I think what he is meaning by DPS check is that it don't matter if you wear I90 or I300. If you can't play jump rope or rotate your skills right. You still suck and can wipe. Or you can be an i90 player and be better than an I300 player.

At last someone who understand, thank you very much.
Hmm, no it's because they needed a last minute healer
You also play the jobs you like and not what the community say is "best"
And, just to be clear if I write "best" (with quotation mark) it's exactly because people CLAIMS that this is the "best", even though a lot of people beg to differ.
Because I clearly think this answer :
took my "best" build litterally...

I'm not sure I like any of the tank jobs currently. Dark Knight has a lot of weird design choices that make me question how much thought was put into it, Paladin is still the typical sword and board 'tanky' tank (snooze mode), and Warrior getting a dps stance and encouraging role segregation for jobs is pretty up there on the 'meh' scale.
I do, however, like tanking so it's whatever I have to play to get the job done for best performance in group.
My life while tanking is an existential hell from which there is no escape.
A1 savage is a dps check
A2 savage is a dps check
A3 savage some mechanics still a dps check
A4 savage who knows no one has beaten it. (safe bet is its a dps check)
The current endgame content is definitely a dps check.
That being said, it would be cool to see some customization at least in the way of cosmetic. I would like to be able to add fire or a green poison effect to all my attacks.

Yes, and it's lame..
Because it 1) makesunderperfomingnot optimal jobs discriminated, even if the player is very good and 2) won't hold any value once everybody has far better gear.
In 6 months, I'm sure more people will have clear A1S than T9.

Can't argue with A1 being a dps check, I would say A2 is more of a heal and tank check, hitting the required DPS isn't so hard...but have you been into A3? Yeah there are dps checks there, but there are also a hell of a lot of mechanics, more so than I've seen in previous raids.A1 savage is a dps check

The reason they are currently a dps check is that it's the easiest way to make them not beatable day one. The other ways to go about it is to make it a tank/healer check, which would just result in 3 healer parties or to make the mechanics so difficult/damaging that only the elite groups stand a chance until they eventually nerf it or you can dramatically overgear it.
I don't want to deal with skill trees. There is my reason for being against it.

That's soooo stupid. It's not a choice then. It becomes mandatory to have this build or you're getting the boot. Why even bother having a skill tree in the first place if everyone will once again have the exact same builds.
