Calling GCs with their city state name

This is a new one i read in maelstrom alliance chat recently " The Snakes going for <pos> node "

I asked " Who the snakes lol? " reply " Its them Gridania! " , so its according to the snakes in the logo of their flag ( The Order of the Twin Adder ) :S

The city state has nothing to do with the GC actual name or the image of their GC logo.

Please don't call them with their city name... Calling them for shorts ( Flames ) - ( Mael ) - ( Adders ) is acceptable <.<

Its just going for so long .. and im still bothered and tired of laughing everytime someone shout their city state name.

Is it really so hard for you to remember that Flames are from Ul'Dah, Adders are from Gridania, and Maelstrom is from Limsa Lominsa?
If you answered "yes" to that question, then please consider the flip side of the coin:
What if it's hard for someone else to remember the GC names but they can remember the cities perfectly?

I don't see what's wrong with using nicknames like "Snakes" either. Most people automatically know what that means. People just like to use what's easier for them to remember, easy to identify, easy to type out.

The city state has nothing to do with the GC

You make it seem like they have nothing to do with each other, when in fact, they are completely tied together.

Lulz, I'm German so in the beginning I didn't know who Adders and Flames are, and on Teamspeak nobody knew who I was talking about when speaking of "Legion is doing this, Legion is doing that, brotherhood this, brotherhood that" because that's what Flames and Adders are called in the german version :P
So let's just add them brotherhood to them gridania to them adders to them treehuggers to them snakes, diversity please Also, what's it matter what they are called, I engage yellow and blue job names ^^
