Can we get some kind of response on these issues? Personally I'm only experiencing the map problem in The Black Shroud but this thread has made it apparent it's not just me. It would be nice if a support employee can chime in and give us some direction. The OP tried reinstalling and that didn't work, so what else can we really do?

I found by having a friend log into my account and throwing away(yep I did) my Astaroth Cane and Taurus Staff actually fixed that issue. HOWEVER, the issue still happens if i "check" anyone with either equipped. I'm really frustrated I had to remove them to play my game AND that there was no other alternative other than to have a friend do this for me.

REinstalling does not help. It would be great if SE could address the issue, even a little. I've submitted bug reports and annoyed a few GMs.

That's a very odd bug. At least multiple people have the exact same issue, so it should be easier to figure out what's causing it.

OK.. I have setup the game on my laptop and let it download all the patches and guess what, NO CRASH!!. I open my inventory and see Conjurer staves and the maps no problems.

So it seems while downloading the patches the data got corrupted midway on my Desktops. I will update again when I copy the game data from laptop into the Desktop!

I think the solution is re-installing the game from the DVD and let it download the patches via the XIV updater and not using uTorrent. I really don't know, because I tried that yesterday, maybe SE *fixed* it somehow?

Note: The laptop had no previous FFXIV installed, just FYI

I did re-install fully from the DVD Zarcon that did not fix my issues. I'm sure its a data error problem but reinstalling and dling from the updater doesn't fix it.

Did everyone with these problems use the torrent to download the patches? I did. Maybe that could be a part of the problem?

I think something is really messed up in the ffxivconfig.exe.

When installing FFXIV the 1st time the default settings for the language is Japanese... So, I have simply changed the language to Japanese and its working... but, when setting it back to English, it crashes!

So the culprit is >>>>>>> ffxivconfig.exe <<<<<<<<

I cannot seem to find the registry entries for FFXIV in regard of configuration, I wonder how it gets hooked up.

Note: Copying data files from my Laptop did NOT resolve, so its not file corruption.

im on saronia and im haven the same probs cant change my gear cant open my items list and cant check the map with out getting dc. ive try'd everything i so try'd my mule lvl4 mrd and i get the same probs so its not just conjurer staff's . idk what it is but game is unplayable for me untill the fix this

My apologies, are you guys using Windows fonts? For some reason, default font seems to fix it for me.
