My plan? Spend more time on IRL things and when I do play, do roulettes for Esoterics and Law instead of bothering with crafting. Re-evaluate plan as future nerfs are made.

BSM > LTR > WVR > ALC(just cause i love the look) > then the rest as time comes xD
Buying the i180s.
I can already forsee the i170s won't be worth the investment with how miniscule of an improvement they are over the i180s and I'm not willing to spend millions getting the materials and melding them with grade Vs.
Gonna get full 180 on weaver and culinarian and see where I stand then.
It took me all week to farm the materials (doing one favor every so often between trying to get my blue scrip books for miner/botanist, while capping red scrips) but I finally made my BSM off-hand just before servers went down. If they improve the favor system with this hotfix, then I'll be spending less time to get those materials and can maybe get more than 1 off-hand a week (at least I won't have to get blue scrip books again.. thank god).
As for my plan, now that I have the BSM off-hand I'm going to try the 170 BSM main (yes it's less, stats, but it's also an upgrade over my i150, and I can get it for roughly 1/6th of the tokens, or 6 i170 main-hands for every one i180 main-hand I would have bought with tokens). Yes this also means I will be missing out on about 20 craftsmanship or so until the market is able to supply a decent amount of grade 5 materia. Will I really need that 20 craftsmanship? not until 3.1; I was already able to 100% HQ my off-hand.
Make all the offhands first as they are the biggest available upgrade and only costs 3 red scrips each. For those asking what's the point of all this and not bothering because there's nothing worthwhile now... the point is to futureproof yourself for the new stuff that will come out. While everyone else plays catch-up, the crafter who prepared in advance will be making all the gil. Also, the higher your stats, the more confident you'll be in doing 2star jobs for everyone else who's willing to pay for a top-tier crafter to do the job.
The only caveat in all of this, is waiting to see what happens with Favors, but I get the feeling it won't be changing very much.
My plan is to get all the offhands 1st for a little more guarantee to craft the 60 **s (Its BiS right?) then store a healthy supply of mats for the next 'wave' of craftables (hopefully more marketable) that arent for DoH.
I'm suspicious of being able to get HQ Ooids etc. and I dont think its meant to be downgraded in the long run of things.
The way my server economy works (Masamune), nobody is buying the Ooids or Roundstones etc at 100-150k a pop. I dont think many feel its even worth investing in the future atm due to lack of faith and sheer grind.
For great adventures in Erozea~!
That only applies if there are recipes worth making that require the new gear, though. Right now, we have no idea if that will be the case. If they maintain the current paradigm, it probably won't be worth the investment at all. We can hope that they change course but it's really hard to say at this point that they will. For those asking what's the point of all this and not bothering because there's nothing worthwhile now... the point is to futureproof yourself for the new stuff that will come out. While everyone else plays catch-up, the crafter who prepared in advance will be making all the gil.
