Ugh, last answer to this. We're pawns in a bigger story. We say nothing, change nothing, or save (unless the story demands it) nothing. We're planks of wood. Puppets. Toy Soldiers on display. Bob. That guy across the street. Still don't get it, then I can't help you.

I think it's probably too late to announce a new race without making it jarring ("suddenly new playable race in 4.0 with no explanation!"). Yugiri appeared in 2.2 and set the stone rolling with speculation on what she is (people even thought she was a Viera, despite her tail), hyping people up for what, to me, turned out to be rather disappointing.

If we're to get a new race, I'd much prefer we get a short race. Particularly one that is neither cute, nor childlike in appearance.

what day the fanfest begins? i think i'm gonna scream if i see Viera presented there! as i said before if they do add them those legs need to be the way they are in ff12, high heels, rabbit legs, if not the entire race becomes invalid

The only issue is people would instantly recognize anything resembling a Viera verses their original idea with Au Ra. Saving it would be a better surprise.

I remember people thinking Yugiri was a Viera, too. It was just so hard for some players to imagine SE giving us anything different since the demand was so high, and the polls were more recent. Viera demolished the race polls.

Also, the Viangaa April Fool's prank didn't help with Viera hype any.

Please no more bunny girl, cat girl or dragon girl. Its the same thing just different head attachments. If they made the Au Ra more beast like then I would say "bring in the bunny girl next", but they didn't. Its just a human with bunny ears and slightly longer legs.
