Viera race already have 2 subgroups Rava and Veena, like all the races of Eorzea so they would fit perfectly, pls SE for 4.0 give us viera
Rava
Veena
not sure if this is a cannon for the subgroups but ff wiki says there are those 2 groups

There's also the third group, Feol, who is lighter-skinned, blonde, and shorter eared.

Personally, I would prefer the FFXIV team to make a new race, rather than copy and paste a race from another game (as it would just make them appear lazy to me). Currently, they've only made the Au Ra, female Highlander (but with eyebrows), female Roegadyn and male Miqo'te (the original 1.0 races were designed by Tanaka's team and were mostly a copy paste from FFXI, but altered to be mostly human). I also do not play this game for the cute things.
Beastmen glamour would be neat.
Rava: Highlander face, Elezen body. Rabbit ears. Different feet
Veena: (female) Roegadyn face, Elezen body. Rabbit ears. Different feet.
Feol: Midlander face, (since it's drawn) Midlander body. Short rabbit ears. Different feet.

oh thx mimilu for the info about the 3rd subgroup, they look amazing, i just googled them, really cool background
I just want to know, where on Hydalen is the continent of Ivalice?
viera existed long before mi'quote
people don't want them because they're ' cute ' .
people want them because they appear in other ff titles.
there's plenty of references of this nature in the game already.
i don't see what the big deal is
fran isn't the only notable viera from ff lore, but she's the most recognized.
we wouldn't ( and shouldn't ) be forced to look like fran if they're ever added.
why do people who play other mmos expect this one to magically bend to the will
of every other mmo out there anyway? final fantasy has a fanbase that was here
before it became the next big mmo.
it's sort of wild to watch people outside of that always freak out about stuff just because
they're so thirsty for their WoW, league, wildstar, or skyrim experiences
if you want that, then just play that
i don't disagree that it would be nice if there was some diversity
maybe even some more dynamic gender options
if we're going to attack dimorphism, we might as well go full force.

I just don't want them because they're brining nothing new aside from weird feet (you can already purchase rabbit ears and claws from the Gold Saucer) :T
i can respect your opinion, but i do not agree.
a lot of people have brought up the gold saucer ears
but even if i got those, i would not be a viera
i'd be a lalafell with bunny ears
it's great that people can be dismissive about it but, there is lore
behind viera, and it would be nice if people could respect that.
and yes, maybe they'd be a little pretty, like they are in FFXII, but they were also known for being warriors,
which was one of my favorite aspects about them, besides their ability to communicate
with the forest ( er, jungle )
the dev team doesn't have to reinvent the wheel just because some people are having mmo fatigue. they just added dragon people / hyurs with scales on their faces + i've had friends say that they couldn't get into the game because they didn't like the medieval vibes, but i don't hear anyone decrying ab how unoriginal any of that is, because it's what's always been popular in the genre as a whole ; dragons, old english or a derivative, political/military influences, sexual dimorphism-the gang's all here.
if you're going to make an argument about things being the ' same ' then don't be hypocritical about it.
it's incredibly transparent.![]()
