Hello All..,
I have been thinking about the loot system and how can it be enhanced. I still think the current one is very fair and works fine. Also I like the new "Loot Rule" feature we had in 3.0.
I have some ideas for what might be a more useful system for FFXIV, since FFXIV allow you to play any class and any job in one character, these suggestions comes in favor for those leveling multiple classes/jobs.
The current system as follows:
Primary--->NEED conditions: Item's class/job must match current player's Class/Job
Secondary--->GREED conditions: anything else
PASS
What I have in mind is some suggestions that I would love to hear your thoughts about.
SUGGESTION 1: This one is easiest to apply in my opinion and less complex.
Primary--->NEED conditions: Item's class/job must match current player's class/job AND required level to use the item must be no more than 5 levels below current level.
Secondary--->GREEDconditions: anything else
PASS
this way, the system reduces NEED abuse and give others a higher chance at the item.
E.X: level 35 PGL CANNOT NEED on PGL items level 29 and below.
SUGGESTION 2: this one is similar to suggestion 1 but with a little twist but I believe it is fair.
Primary--->NEEDconditions: Item's required level must be equal or 1,2,3,4, or 5 levels higher than your current class or alternative class's level.
Secondary--->GREEDconditions: anything else
PASS
with this system, people can level their classes/jobs simultaneously with good chance at items.
E.X : CNJ item level 25 dropped, then player with current class ARC who have level 20 CNJ can roll need on the item.
SUGGESTION 3: this one is kind of a mix between suggestion 1 and 2.
Primary---->NEEDconditions: Item's class/job must match current player's class/job
Secondary---->Alt NEEDconditions: Item's class/job must match alt's class/job AND be equal or 1,2,3,4, or 5 levels higher than alt class/job.
Tertiary--->GREEDconditions: anything else
PASS
So, any thoughts? is there something I overlooked? got something else in mind?
