DPS are kinda griefing tanks if they're ruining your play by consistently pre-pulling. I am by no means saying that tanks are de facto party leaders and call all the shots, but it is their job to handle mob aggro and positioning, not yours.
Not so much, to be honest. Outside of the raids, a couple of specific sync'ed dungeons, and some of the trials, the majority of content in this game is incredibly easy. If the DPS and Healer regularly clear an instance in much less time than the current tank is taking, I can understand the frustration. I'm a long-term tank player myself, and I'll be the first to admit just how easy it is to over-focus on the role, and lose track of (other people's) time (that you're spending.)
Not everything has to be perfect. And one guy wanting to jump through all the hoops cleanly for fear of being blamed if it goes wrong otherwise, doesn't make that okay for the other three who need to get to bed before work the following morning. If anything, the amount of up-votes the comment got is probably more reflective of the dissatisfaction players feel, when they're forced to repeat two year old content for the benefit of newcomers, just to gear up at end game.
Vertical progression is such a horrid development trait in MMO. At least with the current run of patches, PvP has been a side-option to avoid burning out on the Duty Finder.

yes, that's what tanks supposed to do. if they don't do their job, it's a griefing.
You're not listening. That is the tank's job, and if as a DPS you make their job difficult by pulling things the tank doesn't want to pull right now for whatever reason, you're griefing the tank. Ask him to pull more if you're dissatisfied with the pace of the run, it's always better to communicate than to ruin the tanks' play.
Sorry, but even if the DPS are being jerks and pulling mobs you should be at least trying to keep aggro on them. The mentality of 'well, you pulled it, its yours' is just stupid and all anyone else see's is a tank not doing their job. If it's something that happens consistently or gets you killed, then tell the party, politely, not to pull. At the end of the day, it doesn't matter where the mob comes from, only that everyone is doing their job properly.
A tank who's not tanking, regardless of where the mob comes from, is not doing their job and it's no surprise they get kicked. Two wrongs don't make it right, so do your job and the blame for the extra mobs can lie solely on the idiot DPS instead of landing on your shoulders.
Never said I would - the only thing I'm discussing here is the impatient mentality of some DPSers causing us tanks no end of annoyance for no reason. I will of course pick up whatever gets aggroed, I would just prefer to plan and execute each pull myself.A tank who's not tanking, regardless of where the mob comes from, is not doing their job and it's no surprise they get kicked. My comment wasn't directed at you, it was intended for the OP who feels slighted because they let the DPS tank the mobs. I simply have no sympathy for players who put in zero effort.
I main CNJ/WHM for more than a year and a half, until I got sick of people booting out fresh runners especially the Proud ' i9000 Tanks' that pulled half of the dungeon. At that point I decided to Try tanking leveled both PLD/WAR to Lv.50.. I run the dungeon and use my tankiness muscles (and the lack of tanks) to run the dungeon a fair run.
I always do a full clear when I have DPS leveling up (Healers have less trouble in re-queue), I always stop before bosses, ask if anyone needs an explination. I appologize for the other for being bossy, but I am.. I want fresh people to learn, to skill them up, to let them have fun with no pressure. If you don't want me feel free to boot me and wait for a replacement or leave and search for your-pace-tank.
I still love my fresh runners, and I continued leveling Tanks over my main WHM.. Now a Lv.60 WAR/ Lv.57 DRK / Lv.50 PLD and still serving the fresh adventurers of Eorzea.
So at the end you can say they are Tanks who can defintily pull more but doesnt, DPS who pull mobs before the tank does and Healers who pull extra mobs.
It has nothing to do with Job you play, its the person behind it, i hate it when everyone say "poor dps or yeah im a tank im the best" idiots can be behind every job ingame.
For me, i hate tanks who only just use 1 Aoe Taunt and 4 of 5 mobs run to me after 5 sec. and in the end the dps is the idiot cause he do bad dmg lol.
Only thing who is respectful for everyone is to speak/write but just only 2% of the com want it.
I TELL people when I'm gonna let them tank it. So they know I'm not doing my job on purpose because I'm not gonna pander to someone being an ass. It's obvious when someone pulls something by accident, and I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and get it off them, but if you blatantly run ahead of where I've stopped to kill stuff and try to bring me more, I'm not gonna take it because nothing annoys me more than selfish dps. Bloody tell me if you want me to pull more and I'll let you know if I can, but if I can't, just deal with it and focus on doing your own job not mine.Sorry, but even if the DPS are being jerks and pulling mobs you should be at least trying to keep aggro on them. I've been levelling my drk lately and the amount of impatient dps I've encountered is staggering. I had one pull the morbol in that one guildhest, so I told him he could tank it if he wanted to so I went around to kill the bubbles. Surprise surprise, he ignores every mechanic and myself + the other dps aren't enough to kill all the orbs and eventually I get overwhelmed by slimes while I'm trying to protect the healer.
The loldrg decided to have a huge rant about how we should have ignored all the mechanics and focused the morbol and all we were doing was wasting his time ... when he was the one wasting everyone's time by making us all have to requeue - the sheer number of slimes made the thing untankable.
If you are a dps and the tank isn't going "fast enough" for you, suck it up. Even if you think the tank/healer can handle it, don't bloody pull stuff the tank isn't ready for. You're not saving precious, precious time. You're wasting it with your selfishness. I swear to god, the need for speed is going to kill this game.
