Unless you can survive against the mobs it is the tanks who set the pace why do you think you have to wait for the tank to move thru the dungeon? I don't go slow because I hate wasting time, but if you are so inclined to want to be first to engage mobs then play a tank.

A majority of players do not care about forming a community or leaving a good impression they only care about getting their law and eso capped so they can their next gear sets and go AFK in idyllshire for days on end until they're uncapped showing off their gear and their title.

So shame on you for being a good sport and helping the new guys out

I've had this happen a handful of times.

The worst case I've ever had though, and recently, was I entered a dungeon (The Vault) with 2/4 players being new to the duty, the healer and the a DPS were 1st timers and unsure of how things worked.

The 2nd DPS (NIN) wanted to speed run, but we were all very clear that were were taking time, and I was trying to explain mechanics etc.

The jerkoff got PISSED at me for taking "too long" and not pulling every mob in sight, ran ahead 3 times, died 3 times, blamed the healer, blamed me, kept running ahead and dying (eventually I just LET it happen).

Then, actually had the NERVE to tell me off and said "STOP TRYING TO GET COMMENDS AND LETS GO."

Seriously, this community sometimes.

You are right, there is 3 other people with you in that dungeon. But it's a respectful thing to do that if tank pulls only one set you don't go running around pulling more.

Maybe tank is first timer?
Maybe tank is tanking for the first time?
Maaaybe tank isn't that confident about his/her skills to pull bigger pulls?
Maybe, just MAYBE tank doesn't think/"trust" that group can kill fast enough big pulls that CDs don't run out and healer knows what to do?

I main WHM and tanking doesn't come that naturally for me but I really enjoy DRK. And I can honestly say that if you go ahead and pull more than I have, I most likely let you tank those mobs.

Also add when the tank have lag spikes or just bit of lag.

you were not being a jerk, i really hate when healers or dps pull in a big rush rush like that, so when I'm a tank i pretend to go afk while they die and if I'm a healer, I will heal everyone except the crazy person that rushed in to the boss. Teh worst part though is that you were just trying to help that new person. that imo is complete abuse of the VtK thingy
