Well if people here are to be believed you just need to ignore all the mechanics.
That healer will jump through hoops to save everyone's ass.

2 out of 3 is majority, the person being kicked doesn't get a vote.

The general problems are the me complex and the total disrespect for tanks across the boards. Dealing with lowlifes are the exact reason many people like myself quit tanking. I've been booted unjustifiably many a lot of them before I even had the chance to do something wrong. Y'all need to start focusing on how to play as a team. Everyone knows what their strength and weakness are. In my case lack of knowledge and comfort trying to pull huge mobs. Instead of belittling other players take a min to find out what they can do and put a party plan together. Lord knows we all have enough stress in the real world we don't need it in a game. Start treating people that tank better and maybe there will no longer be a need to complain about not enough tanks.

I remember doing a dungeon back in ARR (I think it was AK HM, 2nd boss?) and I was explaining mechanics to a new person. Then one of the other people said 'normally we just ignore the mechanics and the healer heals through it'. Easy for you to say Mr.DPS :\ I tried it that way and it was 10x worse than any other run I did.

I got booted once. But that was because I literally only Walk and Mob instead of toggling my character to Run inside one of the Main Scenario duty roulettes. (I was just bored)

I deserved it and never gonna do that again.

Sorry but this is wrong i can't stand when ppl act like tanks are victims. Guess what there not i myself tank and never feel i'm a victim i heal as well and just as you say ppl are mean to tanks. Tanks can be just as mean like pulling big mobs with out asking the healer if it's ok and so on. No ones a victim we play what we like end of story

The pace is set by the tank and the healer, because if one of them can't handle a speed-run or big pulls - you're just going to wipe, which defeats the entire purpose.

The tank or healer might be new to their role and need folks to be a bit more patient with them. They might not have the gear or skill-level the other party members are expecting and can't handle the extra strain. Or they might just be having an off day and need to go through the dungeon at a normal speed rather than a rushed one.

No matter the situation, if you want a speed run with big pulls, either make your own group or accept the fact that sometimes DF won't give you the exact party make up you need blaze through the dungeon.

OP is definitely in the right. A HEALER has no business pulling a BOSS, especially while mechanics are being explained. Said healer deserved to get rekt and that kick was unjustified. If you lot wanna tank so badly, then pick a tank job

If that happens then you, the tank, shouldn't have this mentality of, "if you want to tank it then go ahead." I'm tired of the "me, me, me" mindset. You're playing an mmo with other ppl. The party sets the flow. If you want to set your own pace, please go player a single player game
The tanks set the flow because they have to keep the hate with the mobs. you can "try" to set the flow, but it would be rocky and people will die with a pissed off healer working way too hard healing.

As a tank it's your responsibility to assess what the party is capable of and pull accordingly. If you see your healer twiddling thumbs or throwing stones while you HP sits at 80-100%? You know you can pull more than one trashpack.

That being said, if you see that DPS is utter crap and the healer is struggling, you should slow down too.

As for explaining the tactics: explaining is fine and all, but please for the love of god don't yap on and on trying to explain everything in minute detail.
Look at the role of the newcomer, throw him the 2 sentences it takes to explain the deadly mechanics and pull.

No one wants to spend the night in the dungeon. Getting everyone through there as smoothly and quickly as possible is a burden we chose when we went in as tank.

Oh and btw: if you see that the tank misjudged the group, there is such a thing as a chat. You can ASK whether he can pull more aggressively or relax. Don't just charge in and "pull moar".

@Valenth: I too tank according to "you pull it? you tank it." You made the right call.

Everyone knows what their strength and weakness are.
    Sadly, most people don't.
Really, because many (esp in a videogame) cannot accept that they might be wrong.
