Way to contradict yourself in one paragraph. Good grief.Sorry bud, but you're mistaken. The tank does not set the flow. Regardless of what you might think, there are 4 ppl in the dungeon. Not just you. The party sets the flow. If 3 ppl want to you to pull another set of mobs, then do it. If the healer is pulling another mob, it means he knows he can keep you alive. If that happens then you, the tank, shouldn't have this mentality of, "if you want to tank it then go ahead." I'm tired of the "me, me, me" mindset. You're playing an mmo with other ppl. The party sets the flow. If you want to set your own pace, please go player a single player game

People kick sometimes for extremely minor and childish reasons.
For the most part however I find df ppl really quite nice.![]()
Not all are talkative which is cool...we are there for a goal and we achieve it, Im good with that.
Blatantly rude comments however sicken me...quite literally.
I think the pace of a dungeon is more based on what the healer can handle more then what tanks want (some are not near as good as they think, some are far better then they realize too!!)
But overall no dps should be pulling...nope..I certainly never would nor agree with any dps or healers pulling any mobs, bosses or trash.
The dungeon run is a team effort not one member however rules and decides everything..but thats more towards killing all trash...skipping some etc...majority should rule in that case.
♥ MORE HIGH HEELS + INSTANCED HOUSING! ♥!

Not really. The tank, more than anyone, is the one that should know if s/he can take more or not, considering what CDs s/he has ready at the moment, the amount of healing that s/he has been receiving, and also how comfortable s/he is (both with the party and with the role). Not the random healer, and specially not the random dps. And if you don't like it roll a tank and do it however you like, or go with your friends, but don't try to add another burden to a role that's already the least played.Sorry bud, but you're mistaken. A fun anecdote. Last night I was doing Vault and we wiped because a BRD thought it was a good idea to pull another pack. I didn't pull it because I knew that neither the healer nor myself could do it at that point. Did it make the run faster? It's obvious that it didn't.
As for the OP, sadly we have these kind of players around here. I don't think that you did nothing wrong, quite the opposite, and I wish that the was more people like you in this community instead of these "ME ME ME NOW NOW NOW" kiddies (and I don't say that because of their actual age).
wth? , kicking helpful players ....really? /sigh

Tanks pull first; other people pulling is only acceptable when it's negligible mobs (the ones that don't hurt, actually help with, or don't needlessly complicate pulls), or if they are pulling on behalf of the tank with them knowing. I will pull for my friends as DPS, or when I'm tanking and I think the healer can handle more, I ask them to grab pats for me, otherwise the above stands.
You were doing fine and shouldn't have gotten the boot for being helpful, the SMN and SCH just need to hakuna their tatas and be patient.

I'ma go punch that.
Tank and DPS

I agree with you that they were jerks but... Titan-egi can tank that dungeon just fine.
I love the official forums, they tell you to use the search for thread about what you wanted to talk but when you use it they judge for necro a thread.

This exactly. I'm a WAR and if I'm not immediately moving on to the next pack of mobs, it's probably because I'm waiting for 1. My TP 2. My healer's MP or for the healer to toss me a Stoneskin 3. A cooldown because I know the next pull is going to be a doozy. Not really. Wow, those early pullers are dumb if your story is legit, lol. Now they have to wait even longer for a new tank, than if they had just let the tank finish explaining the mechanics.
Honestly though, most groups seem to be pretty cool.

I'm new to FF and still learning everything. I'd like to say thank you to most of you in this thread because it is players like you who are a pleasure to learn from and be guided by as a new player running the quest line dungeons. Please keep doing what you're doing, your help and kindness ARE appreciated.

Or the healer knows that he could heal through it even if you use absolutely no cooldowns. Communication should always be the first thing to happen if you don't like how your tank's pulling, but I'm also kinda tired of the whole tanks-are-automatically-the-leader-and-whatever-they-say-is-law mentality. It's a big part of why we have so many entitled tanks. Just because they're the least played doesn't make them more important and/or delicate. Not really. The tank, more than anyone, is the one that should know if s/he can take more or not, considering what CDs s/he has ready at the moment, the amount of healing that s/he has been receiving, and also how comfortable s/he is (both with the party and with the role). When in doubt, assume sarcasm
