I, erm, caught several using lvl51 bait whilst only using Forager's Gear with the Halcyon Rod (including HQ fish). It seems that it's completely RNG. I wasn't even fishing for them!

Pipira Pira can only be caught when it is cloudy or dust storm. If you fish during fair or clear skies, you can only mooch Thunderbolt Eels. I usually just don't go for eels if the weather isn't optimal. Too much time for too little reward. It's best to try and cap on a day when Tiny Axolotl is a turn in.

Yeah, I caught mine whilst trying to get Whillom Catfish. It's great because it's in Tailfeather so you get the rested bonus too.

I suggest you level botanist AND miner to get your Weekly red scrips, while I think fishing is the most fun of the DOL, its also the most RNG. If you have Botanist and Miner level you can get 8 to 16 turn in items per hour or so (16 is really unrealistic though, this is if you get 2 procs per node for all 4 nodes in the hour time frame).

Botany and Miner have those red scrips nodes that spawn twice every game day and they don't overlap so you can get the 450 red scrip cap pretty easily (took me about 6 hours or so I think, but realistically its 5 min of doing stuff with 55 min of waiting every hour).

Tanking is a job, DPSing is a science and Healing is an art.
If the Tank dies, it's the Healer's fault. If the Healer dies, it's the Tank's fault. If the DPS dies, it's their own damn fault.
