Make raid loot lockout per job

Having to funnel raid/endgame drops into one job and then being locked to play only 1 job for 3-5 months because your second best job has equipment -20 item levels behind your main job is no fun and gets boring pretty fast. You can't do raids on anything but main without getting carried by other party members picking up the slack.

The solution to this would be being allowed to:
    1) loot gear drops from raids separately on each job
    2) accrue top tier currency (at the moemnt Esoterics) points separately on each job and buy gear for that job with separate points

For casuals currently having time/skill to play 1 job at best the change wouldn't make any difference. For people wanting 'more', they could experience different play styles and break monotony of 'having to heal through the same boss for 5 months until you puke'.

This way you could play to gear up Warrior if you're not interested in any other job, or Warrior and Dragoon if you enjoy tanking and jumping equally.

Current situation is even more terrible because current itemization is so dull.
In FFXI you could gear up your Corsair to: melee, ranged attacks, healing - and powerful roll buffs on top of that. Red mage could: heal, tank, melee, nuke, buff, CC... Dark Mage could DD, tank, CC... Pretty much all jobs could succesfully fulfil two or three roles at minimum.
In other games you can switch between specs pretty much on the fly (Rougue in Rift can be awesome DD, healer and tank using THE SAME gear by just pressing one macro and changing skill bar abilities; in Guild Wars 2 you can respec as you wish too; same with Elder Scrolls Online; the list goes on)

But then elitist would just gear up all their classes with raid gear in a week. Its to limit the HC players from progressing too far. They'll make it to where the current raids won't have weekly lock
And if you wanna heal, be a whm. Wanna dps be a mnk. Wanna tank be a pld. Why have specs for our classes when we already have the option to freely change classes? When you think about it, picture your character as a freelancer. Every job is basically a different spec for that free lancer

I agree, but I don't know about the raid lockout part. The gear funneling would be too real. I don't have a solution, though. Maybe if it only applied to Alex normal since that's throw away gear anyway?

I do really like the idea of Eso being job based. That would be awesome and people would actually learn the classes they level. It would take a bit of grinding to cap each job each week, but at least you could gear a second+ class; they could also make sure the roulette bonuses and such still only happen once per day if they're worried.

Either way, I really don't think they facilitate the all in one thing too well. In WoW I raided on multiple characters (alt night raids and such; even did heroic raids on alt nights). That doesn't exist here.

Because you're missing the entire point. The fact that we don't have specs and can freely change classes is the reason that being stuck 20+ ilvls behind because of lockouts is annoying.

And who cares if the elitists/hardcores progress further - they play the game more let them. MMOs used to be about time/effort before they had to gate everything by a lockout so casual players could hit their cap in a few hours a week so they didn't feel behind.

I'd rather see them drop everything to giving 1 eso and triple the prices but have no lockout.

Can we not do the thing where you're expected to run 84 roulettes, gather 3 separate sets of 450 red scrips, and 8 separate sets of crafting scrips in a week?

Can we please not do that?

    Something DOES need to happen.

Maybe make it so you cannot GREED on gear if you check the "Alt Mode".

Example I'm running on my summoner in "Alt Mode". I cannot recieve any gear besides SMN gear.

Doesn't work if BLM is my main, though.

I dunno. I want to play SMN, but the thought of being 20 ilvls behind my DRG is a huge turn off.

oh no. I can equip every class on one character, but I can only gear one. It's a shame that I can't make another character and raid on that when my main is locked out. oh wait.

Imagine not being able to level every class on one character. yea ... there are mmos where that exists, and people make alternate characters to level and raid with them. omg the possibilities.
