    Help in crafting and gathering

Hello! I already started miner up to lvl25. I want to be self sufficient with regards to gearing up my classes.

Can anyone advise me on what class should I level up next? Should I level them all evenly? If yes which class? Or I will first level up 1 class at a time.

I know this will be a long journey, but I want to try it.

    Thank you,

Weaver is the class that makes most of the left side equipment for crafting and gathering classes, although there are some leather items too. For the right side goldsmith makes most of them for crafters until lvl 50, then it switches to carpenter. Gatherer jewellery is mainly made by leatherworker.

Crafter tools are mainly made by blacksmith, although some are made by goldsmith, armorer and carpenter.

Even if you only want to level one class, try to level all classes at least to level 15 for the cross class skills, they help a lot in making high quality items.

I'd try all the crafting classes together for the first 15 levels, and then specialize to one or two at a time from there to 50. You might want to include Culinarian along with your favorite(s) up to level 37, since its level 37 skill, Steady Hand II, is an important cross-class skill to have. (Apart from CUL, the others have important cross-class skills at 15 and 50 and nearly useless ones at 37.)

The other advantage to doing multiple classes together is when one relies on materials supplied by another. For instance, Weaver and Leatherworker seem to pair up pretty well together, since a number of WVR recipes call for a bit of leather, and some Leatherworker recipes need some cloth as well. (It's not a perfect pairing as far as providing everything you'll need, though. For instance, a Leatherworker may also need occasional rivets or such provided by ARM or BSM. The only way to be completely self-sufficient is to keep leveling everything.)

    Ways to level DoH/DoL:
    • basic grinding: Level crafting classes by crafting stuff and gathering classes by gathering stuff. It's slower than some of the other methods, but has the advantage of providing stuff to use, give to friends, or sell. That is, after all, the point of gathering and crafting, and there's no pressing reason to wait until you max them out before making use of your developing skills. (Plus, particularly for crafting, it gives you a bit of practice, so you learn how your skills work together. It's easier to learn as you go, incorporating each new skill as you get it, than to rush quickly to the end and try to learn all the skills at once.)

    • GC Supply and Provisioning missions: Your Grand Company will give you GC seals and a significant amount of XP for providing an item each day from each of your DoH/DoL classes. It's only one "quest" per day if you're only looking at one class at a time, but it's 11 per day (8 DoH and 3 DoL) if you're working on everything. The list of items currently wanted (which changes daily) is shown in the Timers window or by talking to your GC's Personnel Officer, who is also the one to talk to to turn them in. If you can provide High Quality items, the rewards are doubled.

    • Leves: Crafting and Fishing Leves will earn you experience for providing the associated item (double if it's HQ). Mining and Botany Leves work a bit differently, asking you to gather from temporary Leve-specific gathering nodes. If you have plenty of Leve allowances to go through, you can rack up a lot of XP in a relatively short amount of time.

    • Ixali quests: These are only for DoH, not DoL, but they provide a lot of XP. Most have you do a quest that concludes with crafting a quest-specific item. There's also a Delivery Quest that has you turn in regular crafted items. As you rank up in reputation so gain access to several tiers of quests, you can do up to 12 of them per day. (Though you start with only access to four per day at Neutral reputation.)
