Let's assume you arrive home promptly at 5 pm. Let's also assume you're in bed by midnight. Factoring in your game time, that means your kids have at most a two hour window to interact with you at all on weeknights. Really feels like you are valuing your game habit more than your kids.

Also...it's not just setting aside time to hang out, but also to teach things like discipline, respect, and responsibility. Sounds like you may be putting that all on the other parent.

Like I said, you do realize they don't have to be by your side, interacting with you every single minute of the day right? They can actually have their own life you know. You can also teach them those things, while also having time for yourself. By throwing away your me time, you're just making them think they can demand anything and expect people to drop what they're doing to help them and not teaching them that they can't always have their way in life. Why do you think so many people have the "me me me. screw everyone else" mentality now? They were never taught that life doesn't always work out for them and it's not Burger King, you can't have it your way.

If you're by their side every minute of the day, that's teaching them nothing. Believe it or not, but parents actually do need their own me time. Especially with technology these days, theres plenty of ways kids can entertain themselves without taking away personal time from their parents. I'm not saying to ignore your kid 24/7. I'm saying you don't have to be right there 24/7. You, as a parent, are allowed to say no to your kids. You don't have to bend over every time they want something from you. That's teaching them the bad habit of expecting things from people and whining if they don't get their way.

Been enjoying the game:

• got a lvl 60 warrior and currently leveling my dark knight
• will begin leveling DoL after level capping DRK
• regularly pvp (wolfmarks and esoterics are a bonus)
• several runs of alex(normal) for the weekly loots
• roulette to cap my esoterics
• have a tendency to kill time at golden saucer (long term goal: to eventually obtain a Fenrir)
• do maps with some friends together
• love hunting (The Hunt) (both ARR and Heavensward)
• enjoy the blizzard and bgm as I fly around Coerthas Western Highlands
• travel across Eorzea and perhaps talk to/help out some other adventurers from FATEs to just giving directions that I happened to stumbled upon

I'm not really into crafting, savage mode and dungeon grinding. However, I still do enjoy the game. To each individual his/her own I suppose.

It's possible to be bored of the game but addicted to the community. Which is the reason why SE better not make any more Golden Saucer games into grinds. I just want the mini-games to be enjoyable with friends, the only reward I want from them is fun.

Tired of leveling crafting but will probably get back to it later when I feel like it.

Finished getting all DoL to 60 ... although can't complete the Lv 60 quests for MIN and BOT.

Recently got obsessed with completing the Sharlayan Philosopher set. That took a frustratingly long time - was quite salty near the end when the last piece just won't drop. After getting it, I was temporarily invigorated enough to grind a few tomes and AlexDF, but it did not last.

So now I wander the Forelands with nothing to do ... (Really odd how different the place feels when travelling by land v.s. travelling by air.)

Still waiting for pet glamour to arrive ... but given that YoshiP doesn't talk about it much, it probably isn't going to make 3.1 - much less sooner.

The same amount they are now but not a repeat with a new coat of paint of last year's content.

This isnt a patch it is an expansion. First patch hasnt been released yet and wont be for another month
