Silver Chocobo Feathers gone?

So, I noticed something this morning when I rolled a new character. Over the weekend I recruited a friend to the game and they joined up. Great! Well, early last week I created a new character and that character received 10 Silver feathers in his mail items. I know this was part of the Welcome Back campaign.

Back to my new character from this morning. When I went to get the mail for this, character I noted something was missing from my inventory. Namely the Silver feathers that I am accustomed to seeing. In their place were 5 gold feathers which came from the recruitment of my friend. I thought maybe this was in error, so I made another new character to test this and sure enough, no silver but 5 gold.

Why did I lose my 10 silver feathers? I was looking forward to using those to help gear my new character.

My friend that I recruited does not have her Silver Chocobo Feathers either. She received the circlet and the Fistbump emote, but never received her feathers or teleport vouchers. As the recruiter, I received everything I was supposed to. I'm wondering why she only received half of the promotional rewards.
