Adding Legacy Tattoo to Mog Station

I already have mine, I was there too playing a struggling game because I wanted this game to succeed as you put it. I'm not sure that new players who want it only because it's exclusive. It IS a very plot relevant marking, also if new players did get it... it wouldn't by nature of that fact be exclusive anymore and I'm sure people who wanted it before would still be just as eager.

It is only plot relevant to those that were there in 1.0. It signifies that our character was one of the ones Louisoix saved at the cost of his own life. Anyone that didn't play in 1.0 is a new Adventurer that becomes the WoL. Those that were in 1.0 reappear and take that role. The tattoo should remain exclusive to 1.0 people.

As a self-proclaimed 1.0 Historian ("Historian", because I didn't actually experience it. lol) I would love to have that tattoo made available so that I could use it on one of my alts... but also that same "Historian" in me also says that, given what it represents, having actually legit experienced the 7th Umbral Calamity and all, I think they should be allowed to keep their exclusives. If they do make it available in some way, they should call it a "replica" and make it a different color or something, but not actually the same one. Or, like others have suggested, make several different designs of tattoos available that can be put in the same place for those who want them.

And also maybe consider having alternate, 'non-tattoo' versions of clothing items that come with tattoos by default (looking at you, Skyworker's Singlet. lol).

It's exclusive because we are the players who stuck by SE when XIV was a struggling game. We paid money for XIV back when the game wasn't even good enough to be paying money for. We earned our stripes because we didn't want XIV to fail and thus SE to go down with it.

Too bad, so sad for the new players who are just now coming onto the XIV bandwagon. If you wanted it so bad, you should have played 1.0. The new players that want it, only want it because it IS exclusive and special. Too late.

How about we get new tattoos. Heck, if we want more exclusivity, make it for those that participated in the height of certain eras of the game. If you were registered in A Realm Reborn, you could get a reborn like tattoo. Maybe a phoenix. Heavensward would give a dragon. Stormblood would give a.. uh.. storm?! XD, Shadowbringers would be an Ascian like tattoo, and Endwalker would be something related to the cosmos.

I remember when their financial losses seemed to be just endlessly mounting, some gaming sites had people speculating about who might buy the Final Fantasy franchise IP from Square-Enix... and while many folks were dismissive of the idea, there was definitely that little nagging background thought that it wasn't entirely far-fetched they might have to do exactly that. (In some alternate timeline, imagine Electronic Arts buying the IP, and what that version of Final Fantasy XV would've looked like...)

I mean, being fair, it was not solely FFXIV 1.x tanking in spectacular fashion that was responsible for the dire state of SQEX at the time; FFXIII was equally disappointing to many people (to some, even more disappointing), and if I recall right FFXI had bled many players to more modern MMOs. So basically everything was not landing well with players right then. But as improbable as that might seem now with SQEX being this massive behemoth of a company, 1.x being such a disaster definitely had the potential to be the final nail in SQEX's coffin.

I am not joking when I say "the rebirth of this game is something unprecedented in the MMO community, and that it happened is at least in part due to the playerbase that said 'We know this is broken, janky, and just plain Not Good, but we believe it can be something more... and we're going to stick around while you try to make it that'."

I totaly agree on this one, even if i were kinda slice days away from reach claimed on this tattoo since beta times i didnt unfortunately not get it but i can still feel the brand on my very flesh
