I have a secret to tell. From my electrical well. It's a simple message and I'm leaving out the whistles and bells. So the room must listen to me Filibuster vigilantly. My name is blue canary one note* spelled l-i-t-e. My story's infinite Like the Longines Symphonette it doesn't rest- TMBG Birdhouse in your Soul
A huge THANK YOU!!!! For FINALLY selling the Meteor Survivor Polo on the store. AND a huge thanks to my friend who bought it for me while he was at Fan Fest!!! YES I finally have my POLO!!!
I can agree with a selection of tattoos being made available, there is nothing unreasonable about that.
There's been much more said than that. It's been well explained, by several people, multiple times.
Not liking or agreeing with the reason doesn't mean the reason hasn't been explained.
They said they wouldn't allow transfers off of Legacy Servers initially, so players starting with 2.0 could get their servers established, with economies, and such... without risk of wealthy 1.0 players coming in with all their money, and screwing everything up (among other reasons). Once things were established on new player servers, they'd allow transfer off of Legacy servers. How about this- The character that I play doesn't have the tattoo because I didn't want to play on a legacy server (where he resides)- now legacy players can get onto other servers- boohoo, that shouldn't be allowed. We were told that legacy players would be on their own servers at launch and then they let them run off to other servers... they lied!
So, no, they didn't lie. At all. They did exactly what they said they would.
But, you don't have to see compelling reasons. You aren't the one making that decision. That person would be Yoshi-P, and he has already long-since established - since even before 2.0 launched - that the mark would be something only attainable by 1.0 characters, in 1.0. It would differentiate them between newer characters created in 2.0.My issue is that SE has changed position on MANY things, and I have yet to see a compelling reason why this isn't something that can be shared... especially since it wasn't part of the legacy deal you had to qualify for to get the legacy account. It's the only tattoo in the game for chars, and new players can't get tattoos. That is really awful.
Agree completely. Create new tattoos, allow players to obtain them in different ways (like with minions, etc), and then change them up via the Aesthetician.
The Mark of the Twelve, though, is tied into the game and world's lore. It's part of the history of every character that came over from 1.0, and survived the Calamity.
And that's fine. Not saying you shouldn't be able to change it if you don't like it. I am not against that. As I have said already, there are plenty of 1.0-locked things I would like to have but I can't. It was the same way when I played WoW for a few years, it was also the same for everyone playing WoW at the time when ONE person could get the title of Scarab Lord during the Ahn'Qiraj stuff. There are going to be things that are going to be out of some players reach, and eventually you just have to learn to shrug it off and move on. They will do the same for the 2.0 players at some point too.
I'm neither for nor against anything suggested in this thread, but I'm pretty sure the OP was only suggesting accounts that already have the tattoo on some character have the privilege of buying it for new characters. I don't think he ever mentioned letting non-1.0 accounts have access to the tattoo.

Yes, they *were*. ARR does not equal 1.0, and that is the version I have the preorder for. PS3 is listed as one if the platforms that it was available for (see the full movie trailer for 1.0).
We were LIED to. Full stop. There is no argument to be given, no ifs, ands, or buts. If they didn't intend to make it available, they should never have advertised it in the first place.
Honestly, I can't disagree. Tanaka made it clear that he was going to release XIV on the PS3... He also made it clear that our input didn't count for shit and seemed to have an eventual Chinese release in mind if his game systems and naming conventions were any clue. But anyone that played 1.0 knew full well that that game engine was never going to run worth a damn on the PS3. This is the mess Yoshida inherited, and honestly I'm glad he didn't try and develop 1.0 into his final product, Crystal Tools was not a good engine for making an MMO for the PS3.Yes, they *were*. Actually they didn't lie 2 months after releasing 1.0 on PC they made this statement in letter about the game saying the game in it current state 1.0 was longer being planned to be release to Ps3Yes, they *were*. Which became 2.0 or ARR that was released to the PS3Regarding the PlayStation 3, it is not our wish to release a simple conversion of the Windows version in its current state, but rather an update that includes all the improvements we have planned. For that reason, we have made the difficult decision to delay the release of the PlayStation 3 version beyond the originally announced date of March 2011.
Are people still making a problem out of this? Really?
Just leave the Legacy tattoo exclusive and add some new tattoos to the cash shop. Not having a Legacy tattoo is not ruining anyone's gaming experience. Give it a rest.

When you're actively campaigning to oppose change, it's silly to play innocent like it's all SE's fault and you're just the bearer of bad news. If you aren't trying to block anything, stop posting and let people voice their support.
...and it's not ruining anyone's gaming experience if more people get the tattoo, either. Just sayin'.
