The legacy mark, at least in my eyes, is more than just some lore thing you can buy for 99 cents.
Im sorry, and i know this is rude, but you are trying to roleplay player history.

I would at least like the option of being able to obtain the tattoo considering I played 1.0, bought the Collector's Edition, and supported the game monetarily for a time. I'm basically missing out on a potentially fresh perspective (because the tattoo actually changes the lore somewhat by having your character be revealed as the Warrior of Light before the Calamity.) even though I did everything other 1.0 players did but just not for some three-month period at the end of 1.0.
I'm not saying make it available on the cash shop, but making it available if you have 1.0 character data for that template would be nice.
Not a good example, since we were never told that event wouldn't happen again. At one point, we were told that SE hadn't decided whether to bring it back again or not, and a bunch of players started shouting that that means they never will, which certainly isn't what SE had said.
This is pretty much what I mean when it was an event thing and not an exclusive 1.0 legacy supporter promise thank you apology thing.
It was an event item, during an event. Pretty much all of the events have been recurring and non-exclusive, I am not sure why this should be any different. It is a significantly game-changing and lore changing detail, not just a mount or a minion, but it literally /changes the story/ and history of your character, in a way that is very exclusive and quite hurtful to new players or returning players that were not online at that specific time due to whatever RL reasons.

Oh please! It is not at all hurtful to new players! The new players character rises to the same prominence as the old. You are still the hero of the age! And the one Eorzea looks to in its current time of need.
There was three months one had to be there to count for Eorzea's final days. You were not there, that does not diminish the newer characters, but you were not there, you weren't created there. Wherever you were during the calamity, it was not in the lines of battle.
And adventurers werent the only ones to survive carteneau either.

I'm not sure how the tattoo can be tied to those events... since there was no MSQ requirement. You could seriously be level 10 have gotten it. You were nowhere near the battle.....
Exactly, you could have completed the 1.0 storyline, had 1.0 CE and everything but had been on leave during the event time and not have it, or have been level 1 but logged in once and killed nothing but got it.
Hopefully they'll add different types of tattoos and preferably on different locations on the body (as a Xaela male many tattoos don't show). They already have a system in place for it as seen with the Legacy Tattoo. So here's hoping a tattoo shop will be in the works? Maybe somebody should suggest that in the upcoming anniversary special?
As far as I'm concerned, the Chocobo, $9.99/month and having your name in the credits are what the Legacy Campaign specifically offers.
All else are Legacy items which may or may not eventually make it in the gamed later on. After all, now everyone did the last quest for the fisher to get the Star-spangled subligar in 1.0 ... now we can get it for free in game. Or the moonlet ear ring, which was special even in 1.0, so talk about a limited time event in an already limited time of 1.0

If you haven't realized as of yet, the majority of people visiting the forum possess little reading comprehension and react to forum thread titles before reacting to what you are actually saying.
Yes, if you have a legacy account, I don't see any reason why they couldn't offer the tattoo as something you could purchase.
It wasn't about being there for the battle, it was about being there at all. As many have said, they have the tattoo and only played 1.0 during it's time without a subscription. They were there. And I think the point was missed about the fan fest in that there was more to it than just early release Square Store goods and a suit. I said fan fests, as in all the ones I've missed. Including the XI fan fests, when there was no cash shop to speak of. People who attended the XIV venues were able to challenge the primals and, if successful, get the, "I defeated ___" shirts. I will never have one of those shirts. I never got the Moogle Wand or Moogle Shield from the XI fan fests. Yet I'm not moaning over how not having them is ruining my life. Move on, there will be more exclusives in the future you can try for. All you have to do is keep up with the game.
