Think you got something there.
I've been seeing threads like this one pop up over the last few months (I believe someone asked for the Goobbue as well) and I think this is why. Nothing else has ever been exclusive since 1.0. I think the 1.0-related items (tattoo, Goobbue, Legacy Chocobo) are the only items that are unobtainable now (and perhaps the Cait Sith doll?). I have everything other than the Legacy Chocobo myself, and I can SORTA see their point. Either your make items exclusive, or you don't. With their tendency to throw everything back in the cash shop, nothing is time-limited anymore. This is similar to how XI was, I suppose, as we used to be able to purchase older event items from NPCs.It's different from games like WoW where they give out unique time-limited rewards that players are using to show long they've been playing. You got nothing "special" from 2.0, and let's face it, a lot of people like to have unique items as milestones to show how long they've been around. I think most of us that don't care much are from XI, but I have noticed the opposite trend from people coming from other games where this is the norm. And there's nothing wrong with it. I do think it could be a neat idea! Not ALL items, but just a few (just an anniversary minion, maybe)?

Well, we do have the special event items from XIII, Shantotto and DQ, but this is why I'd rather see them remain exclusive as well and let the promised XV event etc. be 3.x's exclusives. I don't generally mind (I completely get where you're coming from with exclusives not being that important in XI) but I can't see this rift between legacy/nonlegacy in regards to exclusives getting any better unless either everyone has an equal chance at exclusivity, or there are no exclusives.
And honestly I'm against the tat being handed out for various reasons including its connection to lore which would impact my enjoyment of the game, so I say let them keep it, because regardless of some opinions in this thread, it does have meaning.
Some ppl would argue that the post 1.0 player base had nothing to do with the game being remade into ARR.All of the insults, defensiveness, and covetousness over a set of pixels on a characters back. For goodness sake. Keep it. Just know that if it weren't for us (the post 1.0 player base) you might not have a game to play anymore, because I'm sure some people got fed up with 1.0 and decided not to stick around later to see what they decided to do with the game ...Just like if it weren't for you, the game likely wouldn't be where it is for all of us today. Respect for both player bases would be considerate instead of the obvious abhorrance I see for non legacy players. We aren't plebs and don't need to be treated as such.
I know that I am however, referring to the pc players. I am well aware the ps3 player's plight. I didn't insert that because I've been a pc player for this game since the get go, so it didn't occur to me.
Let the legacy players keep it. it is their reward for staying with the broken game that 1.0 was, even for a little while. Note, I am not a legacy player, but i've a respect for those who are. Let them keep this tattoo, for it marks them as those who stayed by the 1.0 game.
Besides, how embarrassing is it to have someone ask you "WOW! YOU HAVE THE LEGACY TATTOO! What was 1.0 like!?" "Idk i bought this yesterday lol".
It just sounds pathetic.
* The sad thing is that FFXIV turned RDM into a turret, and people think that's what it's supposed to be. It's supposed to combine sword and magic into something more, not spend the bulk of gameplay spamming spells and jump into melee for only 3 GCDs before scurrying back to the back line like good little casters.
* Design ideas:
Red Mage - COMPLETE (https://tinyurl.com/y6tsbnjh), Chemist - Second Pass (https://tinyurl.com/ssuog88), Thief - First Pass (https://tinyurl.com/vdjpkoa), Rune Fencer - First Pass (https://tinyurl.com/y3fomdp2)
That is another topic. They are asking for the legacy tattoo to be on mogstation. If you want ur legacy tattoo on all your already made characters on that time that is fine, but you shouldn't make it sound as if that player was against the idea of sharing the tattoo with other avatars
3.1 can't come soon enough!
Wow so much hatred or contention over cosmetic things, Just give it to them if they want it this is a business after all the gifts the money gets the money. Or As a compromise as others have suggested Just add a tattoo or some tattoos.
