Did I say you had to beat anything? You just had to play the game. Guess what, people didn't, people didn't even give it a chance, so they didn't get a tattoo. Tough luck.Well, frankly- even the char I have with the tattoo- I would like the option to change it to something else.. because I also happen to think the 1.0 looks completely stupid. Like something an idiot got while they were drunk.
The above comment just demonstrates #1.
My friend's character has the stupid thing and he didn't pay a cent in subscription and hated 1.0. I had to beg him to give 2.0 a chance. Whole lot of MEANING there- it means he bought a garbage game. It's a symbol of being ripped off to some people, you know and not a GOOD reminder.

Fine, it's not invalid or wrong- it is, however petty
Anyway - see above - lots of tattoo options are better than just one ugly one, anyway. I would think anyone could RP just fine with whatever tattoo they want if we are able to select.

It is petty to actively block someone from options of customization because it may threaten a person's real or imagined sense of exclusivity or in the case of some posts outright blatant and outrageous claims of virtue and sole reason for this game existing. (Without even discussing alternative compromise options- some people just come in and blast the OP with self righteous nonsense)

People with the marking are not blocking anything. SE set the conditions behind getting it, many players do not meet these conditions. It is not an imagined sense of exclusivity, it literally is exclusivity and that is how it was designed.

Other options have been presented in this thread...and let us not pretend that SE doesn't make or unmake rules/conditions/terms as they see fit.
"SE said so" is not an excuse... SE can unsay or change whatever they want.... or are we all going to pretend that everything SE has said has been true, done as it was claimed, or never changed?
Really?

None of which I (and many) agree with, the only thing I can agree with is more tattoo options in general. What was designed and advertised as exclusive, should remain exclusive. But if players want other tattoos, they should have that option.
You're right, however, the legacy tattoo is not a feasible option of customization. It simply is not available and will not be available ever again.
Really, the OP got blasted because he outright openly insulted the entire legacy cluster saying "He did not care" how they felt and just because he wanted it, it should happen. That isn't realistic. Also, it is a fact that without the 1.0 supporters, 2.0 wouldn't have been created. SE has openly confirmed this via the Legacy Campaign as a thank you.
Edit: And yes, SE COULD change it whenever they want. But for a successful business, they need to weigh if its worth insulting a block of the fanbase just to make a small portion happy. Is it worth the risk? Logic dictates: No.

I think that is a pretty good solution, though - don't you? Tattoo options... one tattoo design is the legacy locked design, but there are lots of others to choose from.
Lord knows I wouldn't choose the fugly legacy one, anyway!
