Fair enough. However, the fact remains you and a bunch of other people did miss it. It was out for a few years, especially times when the game was free to play. Sorry you missed 1.0.

I already have mine, I was there too playing a struggling game because I wanted this game to succeed as you put it. I'm not sure that new players who want it only because it's exclusive. It IS a very plot relevant marking, also if new players did get it... it wouldn't by nature of that fact be exclusive anymore and I'm sure people who wanted it before would still be just as eager. It's exclusive because we are the players who stuck by SE when XIV was a struggling game. We paid money for XIV back when the game wasn't even good enough to be paying money for. We earned our stripes because we didn't want XIV to fail and thus SE to go down with it.
Too bad, so sad for the new players who are just now coming onto the XIV bandwagon. If you wanted it so bad, you should have played 1.0. The new players that want it, only want it because it IS exclusive and special. Too late.

Of course it is a very plot relevant marking. SE promised us that due to our support, we'd be immortalized somehow in the game's foundations. That was our reward for our loyalty.
If SE made the legacy tattoo widely available, it spits in the faces of those who did stay and I, for one, would be very upset.
It is only plot relevant to those that were there in 1.0. It signifies that our character was one of the ones Louisoix saved at the cost of his own life. Anyone that didn't play in 1.0 is a new Adventurer that becomes the WoL. Those that were in 1.0 reappear and take that role. The tattoo should remain exclusive to 1.0 people.I already have mine, I was there too playing a struggling game because I wanted this game to succeed as you put it. Wait wait wait, you think Square Enix itself was gonna tank with 1.0?! A little far, methinks. They've never been that imperiled as a company. It's exclusive because we are the players who stuck by SE when XIV was a struggling game. It was actually quite heavily implied at the time that it was a major issue.

Here's an actual report on the matter.
Well it just seems a bit weird for things to be exclusive, there's no reason to bar content from customers who actively want it. It's not like it's hidden behind some big grind or hard boss, it's just simply 100% inaccessible, and that can be sort of demoralizing to new players knowing from the word go they can't possibly achieve everything.
Build a time machine there I gave you a way now get to work.
And no no one in life is able to achieve everything. Some things will always remain inaccessible to people.

Then they should've stuck it out in 1.0 like those of us that did and earned the legacy tattoo. It's called 'Legacy Tattoo' for a reason. The problem with alot of gamers today is they want everything for nothing. The all about me and i want it now generation. Absolutely not. I'm not a legacy player but i do not want it, it would be a kick in the nuts to the people that stayed with the game throughout it's 1.0 days.

A legacy is something which is handed down from the PAST...as in the FIRST version of XIV which no longer exists. They can no longer be obtained for a reason. They were EARNED for being a part of FF history.Well it just seems a bit weird for things to be exclusive, there's no reason to bar content from customers who actively want it.
