Yea the post is making me confused too. You're mad because at the core, FFXIV is a MMORPG?

Well no, not at all. I have been raiding with my static since the beginning, and I have no problems whatsoever with grinding out that type of content. But lately, I've been bored in my off time. The off time activities are however scarce and not very well thought out in my opinion. This is what I was trying to voice. I had to cut my text down a lot because of character limit, so I understand if the post confuses you.

Actually that is a common thing people tend to do when they are not having fun when playing. People do get burned out from time to time and require a break to find it enjoyable again. I too have taken breaks now and then when I don't find it fun at that moment.
GTAV, nothing like mowing down people on sidewalks for no reason, takes the edge off.
Most certainly agreed. This comment however misinterprets my post. Ad hominems are not contributing to the point I'm trying to make.
The fact that an MMORPG has to be the things that annoy the OP is laughable. It's supposed to be a game that is entertaining to some degree. If it just turns to busy work and inter-player competition than it's no longer a game, it's an extension of real life.
Also, I've seen some threads where people are bidding adieu, talk about what was problematic, etc, and there's a lot less going back and forth than when we have something like this even when it's on the same subject. Final Fantasy XIV ARR is far from a perfect game even with Heavensward and it needs a lot of love and fixing to make it really shine properly. They are way too worried about creating set pieces, have no procedural content for replay-ability, and are completely dependent on currency grinders and promotional perks to keep people subbed.
I swear, all I ask for in the AAA industry is if they take to a game model like a theme park design, they also weigh in the cons and bring in at least SOME of the good ideas from exploratory titles like Path of Exile, Dungeons and Dragons Online, etc.
