Gear Sets et al

I guess this is the right place to put this. Your extremely bored customer service rep was not very specific, or helpful.

At some point after the expansion I noticed that when I dragged and dropped a new item to my hotbar it would not stay there after I logged out. Then it started happening to gear sets. I would change or delete them and the next log in they were right back to where they had been before. Then it started happening with UI settings. Changed to default and next log on it was right back to where it had been. Now it's my login name. I put my login name and clicked remember me and next time it is all gone including the check by remember me.

This is progressively getting worse. I have stopped playing for now because I am tired of having to go in and rearrange everything knowing that I will have to do it again and again.

So here's my post on this. I cannot see how a game this large can have such a bad bug this far in.

Since your problem sounds a lot like the Windows 10 problems, I have some questions:

Are you on a machine that's upgraded to windows 10? If so, have you done a clean install of windows and/or a re-install of FFXIV?

Did you install FFXIV to the default directory or did you install it to a different location or drive? If I understand correctly, the game attempts to write the UI settings to files. It could be that you don't have rights to modify these files. There's a way to "take ownership" of different drives and folders if that's the case.

Have you tried running the game as an administrator?
