    Why do Healers...

There are things I've noticed when DPSing/ co-healing that some healers do that really bug me.

    1) Why do healers cast Stoneskin/ Protect when there are still some people watching the cutscene? You're just going to have to cast it again in a few seconds, why not just wait and save your mana?

    2) Casting Medicas when only one or two people really need healing, to the point their go to reaction seems to be Medica II > Cure II. ??? It's such a waste of mana and drives me insane. It doesn't even grant enough HP for the people that you're doing it for.

    3) Not resurrecting your co-healer if they die (and there's plenty of time/mana.) Why? Is it out of some sort of perverse need to try and solo it? Your fellow healer isn't your rival, they're your friend. Saw this on Shiva, they were flinging Cures at players with 95% HP almost the whole time while the other one just lay there.

Anyone else noticed this? Or do you have any gripes about odd healer habits?

    1. don't notice or I just like casting it to do something. (why not? my mana more than comes back before first pull)

    2. lazy healing, bad habits (don't play whm with rgen then you might precast it)

    3. no swiftcast at time or lazy

    1. Somewhat rational fear that people will run off before buffs which means casting them twice anyway. Why are people watching cutscenes?
    2. Dumb.
    3. Extreme tunnel vision, or irrational contempt for you dying.

    My gripes:
    1. SCHs that spam succor.
    2. Full-time DPS only healers that I have to carry.
    3. If I'm already in a sect or have a fairy out, you better roll with the other option.

    1. If you're a SCH or AST, no reason to wait on stoneskin. Protect should wait though.

    2. Bad.

    3. If I can solo heal a fight and the other healer is incompetent (ex. died multiple times to simple mechanics, overheals, stands around and does nothing, etc), I leave them on the floor.

    1. Stoneskin I or II? A SCH or AST can only cast Stoneskin I on one target at a time. Also, boredom.
    2. Probably a novice.
    3. If I don't resurrect the other healer instantly, then I might be managing the heals fine and waiting on Swiftcast to come back up. Also, maybe the healer is lacking Swiftcast.

    1. Who cares
    2. Rarely happens
    3. Rarely happens or Swiftcast is down

Some players make bad decisions. In other news, the ocean has been found to be wet. News at 11.

This is how I "win" the unspoken dual AST DF fight. Load in first and make sure I'm in Diurnal stance. Have never had to heal in Noct spec so far.

As to the OP's question, everyone already said it but:

    1. Either worried that people will run off, or at least in the case of Stoneskin it's easy to buff that one person. Also mana is not an issue since the fight hasn't started.
    2. Bad. There's no other way to answer that.
    3. Also bad. Swiftcast has only a 1 minute CD so if you really have to wait for that, it's not terribly long to wait. That would not explain ignoring your co-healer's dead body for long periods of time when healing and mana aren't an issue.

    1) If the tank is out of CS I might cast before everyone else is out as they tend to run off as soon as circle drops.

    2) If I know heavy damage is incoming in the next 2 seconds or so I Medica II so we can have regen up or so I can switch to DPS mode and not have to worry about topping anyone off. If it is a phase of a fight where you stack and then spread out I might regen the entire party.

    3) If swiftcast is down I will wait for it to raise other healers. People can die if you try to hard raise.

Mostly all of the above are situational as to if it is pure lazyness or not. Also, sometimes nervous healers overheal.

I don't usually have any mana problems unless I am heavily DPSing so I don't see how it is hurting the other healer.

I guess just don't worry about the other healer so much unless it is negatively impacting you or the overall run.
