First time SCH leveling ..

So im trying to MAIN SMN but atm picked up SCH (leveled cnj to 15 for it) and leveled BLM to 26 for swiftcast

So here my question from 31-50 what should i be using for healing dungeons (will be dungeon spamming to 50) and would LOVE to have some advices for able to be effective and well ...

What do you mean? You should be using all your abilities/fairy (if you have not unlocked scholar you should or don't heal) Have appropriate level gear in each slot. Put your stats in Mind for now until you switch to Summoner (You can get the item to reset your stats from your GC vendor for 250 GC Seals).

Use Adloquium on targets that have less than 80% HP that you know will be taking further damage (generally tanks), and Physick on everyone else. Use Succor when the party takes AoE damage. I'd recommend using Eos exclusively and practicing placing her and using her skills manually (keep her on Obey and bind her skills to your hotbar somewhere). Rouse + Whispering Dawn is very effective for sopping up party damage, but it also works to help keep your tank alive. Practice toggling into and out of Cleric Stance to do DPS.

The only other thing low level scholars have to worry about is not having Leeches until a higher level so at lower levels you just have to throw out an extra heal or so for someone that is poisoned. Some people have issues with Brayfloxes Longstop at level 32. If you can heal that fight okay then you are doing alright. Good luck. Your next test will be Stone Vigil without having access to Lustrate. If you can heal this one your are in good shape also.

Put your Fairy on obey and learned to control her cooldowns manually. If it's your first time healing, focus on healing (role) > mechanics > utility (Virus, Eye for an Eye) > Healer DPS > Clerics Stance DPS

Learning to gauge your group's damage (and mob damage) is nice to give you an estimate of how much time you have to DPS in Cleric's Stance then swap out to heal.

Never use Whispering Dawn before a pull tanks generally do a single target pull into an AoE one (gets the pack of mobs running towards them).

Here are some suggestions:
1) Remember your job quests, these will unlock very useful skills for low level dungeons (for example, leeches is useful in Cutter's Cry...and in a lot of other places).
2) Physick is your Cure. It's the skill you usually use to heal. Spamming adloquium is bad, don't do it, use it only if you know or think that the tank will need a shield for a cleave or if the tank is low on health followed by Physick spam.
3) Learn to DPS while keeping your tank alive (DoTs + Bane on mobs -> heal the tank). A SCH that doesn't DPS is a bad SCH.
4) Your fairy has potential. Using your fairy on Sic usually means you're not fully exploiting that potential. Learn how to manually control her and when it's optimal to use Rouse if you want to be a good SCH. Do use Rouse. If you only want to use SCH so that queueing is faster than ignore this point and Sic fairy is ok.
5) Eye for an Eye is good. Use it on your tank whenever possible. Virus is a little more advanced stuff so don't worry about it for now.
6) Keep your gear updated. It's not necessary for you to buy new stuff asap, just know that entering Aurum Vale at ilvl35 as a SCH can be a very bad idea.

Succor should be pre-casted, and generally not used as an AoE heal. Especially in 4-man dungeons where you can just throw a few physicks out and let your fairy do the rest. Don't spam succor.

Before Leeches, Selene gets an AoE status removal ability (Fey Caress) at level 20. You'll be better off manually using it, particularly in Brayflox. She is the preferred pet for almost all situations on your way to 60.

time your shields. Sure, they can heal for a lesser potency than Physick but it starts to shine when you are trying to heal the tank who's about to receive an incoming massive damage. Shields are the core of being a sch and mastering it will set you apart from the baddies.

I'm incredibly excited to heal with Scholar. I've been healer in MMOs for years and love the idea of pet controls. I think it will be a happy ending. *evil grin*
