As for what I'm looking for, I like MMO's. I played WoW back in the day and loved Classic, BC, Wrath, and sort of liked Cata.
With regards to "looking for a community that's always nice to" me, I am not looking for that. I can play with the asshats. My issue has been with players who go out of their way to make randoms difficult, who whine and complain when things aren't defeated on the first try, and who expect other people to go watch a video before doing a fight.

I like games that are challenging and random where you have to solve problems and work with others to accomplish goals. And I want a game that's like that at all the levels, not just end game. I'd love an MMO that's skill based and not just a measure of how much time you've spent googling your class. I suppose I'm old fashioned :P

If these two statements are true, I would highly suggest giving EVE Online a try.

I second this. I didn't care much for EVE Online, but it fits the style of gameplay you described.

That said, you will need a very thick skin, a nose for troublemakers (scammers are a fact of life there, and as long as they're not exploiting bugs or otherwise breaking the rules, the GMs won't interfere), and a love of PvP in that game (they even have a saying: You agreed to PvP when you logged in).

Dancer is a physical hybrid melee/range class, not a true ranged class. I love it.

Not sure any game fits that bill, MMOs just arent challenging anymore unless you do the Mythic/Savage raid... Seems the new theme of MMOs are "Raid or Die" as people that don't raid get bored fairly quickly. Right now I spend 90% of my time crafting/gathering in game. Not sure If i should start raiding or just go play something else lol :P

I think my biggest problem is I can't find the motivation to wipe to savage for hours on end when I already beat the bosses on normal mode

i feel kind of same boat as u, i have goten the A1 S down to 16% enrage ( lack of dps as some died ) but since day 1 of trying it , everything feels boring , just adding lots of more dmg and hp on boss, and a green puddle that apears, but everythiing else is plain boring in this. specially since at some point we all gona play catch-up and gear up anyway what ever we want with the echo or uncapep tomes, we will have nothing to do at some point like end of 2.5 era.

i enjoyed crafting uptil redscripts, the rewareds compared to how much effort u got todo is so mimimal. and gill is uslesss unless u want to get a meduim or large house.
i still play this game and pay because i like the people i play with, and there is a social aspect and the story , music, graphics are very pleaseing. altho gameplay of things like FFXI was far superior and rewarding but the graphics dont cut it there anymore.

I throw my vote in for Everquest.
