    Parting Questions for FFXIV players

    Hello, and goodbye!
I tried to give FFXIV a go, but it's just not the MMO for me. As I part, I would like to thank those of you who weren't a dick in random dungeon parties, and that goes double for those of you who were helpful and nice.
As I leave I pose two questions:
1 - What is your favorite thing about FFXIV?
2 - What game do you recommend I try next?

    Kindly,
    Gen

As for question 2, that would depend on what you are looking for in a MMO.

Bye! Glad you enjoyed the game while you did, good luck finding a new one.
    1) I'm not really sure! I enjoy the story and appearance customization options with FFXIV (Despite my numerous complaints about both of those) I suppose.

    2) It really depends on the game you're looking for? Another MMO? Something entirely different?

    1) It's pretty hard to choose one, but I can narrow it down to two maybe: Story and playing all jobs with one character.

    2) We can't answer that unless we know more about why you don't like FFXIV and what you are looking for. Also, are you looking for another MMO, or any game?

    1) Graphics. Graphics is what makes me endure the daily routine of doing the same two dungeons over and over, the same scripted fights over and over. If FFXIV had the graphics style of say WOW, I'd probably not even payed a cent after beta.

    2) Witcher 3. There are a lot of things a single player game offers that MMOs will never ever be able to offer due to the inherent difference in their business models. I would suggest every MMO player to play a single player game once per year at least to remind themselves what gaming really should be.

I second this. The only reason I'm still playing FFXIV for the moment is friends, otherwise my life would be consumed with Witcher 3. I feel like FFXIV is in part a job, while I feel like Witcher 3 and other single player games lately are actually fun.

I don't rush content and I'm already done with just about all the non-grindy stuff in FFXIV :/. The expansion provided surprisingly little fun after the initial amazement for me.

If you have to have an MMO and want a good community, I'd recommend The Secret World. It's got its issues but the community's overall attitude is not one of the issues. Its community is a million times better than FFXIV's imo. There aren't nearly as many things to do there though to keep you occupied and updates are slow compared to FFXIV, but it'll keep you entertained for a good while nonetheless if you like it.

1 - A lot of things honestly. Mostly the lore and the graphics and characters.

2 - Depends on what you're looking for in a game?

    1. The story and not so "hack and slash" dungeon mechanics.
    2. If you're looking for a community that's always nice to you, stop playing multiplayer games. That being said, the people on the Landroval server of Lord of the Rings Online are mostly nice. Maybe you'll like it?

As for what I'm looking for, I like MMO's. I played WoW back in the day and loved Classic, BC, Wrath, and sort of liked Cata.
With regards to "looking for a community that's always nice to" me, I am not looking for that. I can play with the asshats. My issue has been with players who go out of their way to make randoms difficult, who whine and complain when things aren't defeated on the first try, and who expect other people to go watch a video before doing a fight.

I like games that are challenging and random where you have to solve problems and work with others to accomplish goals. And I want a game that's like that at all the levels, not just end game. I'd love an MMO that's skill based and not just a measure of how much time you've spent googling your class. I suppose I'm old fashioned :P

If these two statements are true, I would highly suggest giving EVE Online a try.
