*eyeroll* For two years we got new seasonal stuff and were able to purchase the old seasonal items on a vendor.
Considering we have been seeing items come back to vendors to an extent in newly released seasonal events means they have noticed the customer apathy and are attempting to appeast it slightly. Wether I think SE will do anything or not is besides the point, minority or not I pay as much for the games subscription as cash shop supporters do so I'm voicing my opinion on how I feel it's a toxic business practice and does more harm than potential good.
Removing content from the game isn't my cup of tea, I'd speak out against them not bringing things back to the next years event as well if they made it unobtainable beyond that seasonal event that specific year. The seasonal events should grow with every year not remain a stock set of items and a ever growing stock of items in the cash shop for purchase.
SE has tons of ways to implement cash shop items into the game they have the PERFECT venu with the gold saucer, but making them unobtainable without paying above and beyond your subscription is content locking no arguments can prove it otherwise. Vanity for some people IS content and removing it from the game to place a paywall infront of it is bad form.

Spending resources for this, as few resources as they may be, is still wasted effort. And is still asking for them to give you something that you missed.
This is such a stupid topic to me. I honestly want more stuff in the cash shop, though I would like more unique stuff than a bunch of crap I already have. Honestly if I had my way event stuff would be lost forever if you missed the event, so be glad you can at least spend $2 to get what you missed.
We certainly don't need more "unique" items in the cash shop, But rather IN THE game items as a P2P MMO should do with content, it's fine if it's just old items that people missed. so they don't cry all the time that they can't get them anymore.Spending resources for this, as few resources as they may be, is still wasted effort. And is still asking for them to give you something that you missed.

And for the record I have the bomb dance - I am just against paying more on top of my monthly subscription in general. Subscription or micro-transactions, not both.

And that's fine. you're entitled to your opinion and voice it.Considering we have been seeing items come back to vendors to an extent in newly released seasonal events means they have noticed the customer apathy and are attempting to appeast it slightly. But you must remember that your opinions are not facts, they're opinions, no matter how strongly you feel about them, and are open to debate. You can be of the opinion that the cash shop is content locking, but it's just that, your opinion. If the majority and/or SE disagree with your opinion, then that is their right.making them unobtainable without paying above and beyond your subscription is content locking no arguments can prove it otherwise.
Realistically, the cash shop isn't going anywhere for reasons I've already described. People are willing to pay for it, and they'd be foolish not to capitalize on that. It doesn't matter if you think it's right or not, they're a business first, and if there's a market to be tapped, then they're going to tap it. Them going, "aw gee, our players are so great we'll just give them this stuff in game" is a nice idea, but very naive.

I hate the cash shop.
Just throwing that out there.
(Mainly because SE's current stance on the awful inventory problem is to "BUY" more retainers)

Montly Fee for additional Retainer =/= Single Payment for a useless cosmetic effect
Just to throw that in the river of tears that's flowing here

In a previous post you mentioned different archetypes of players to explain your opinion that cosmetic items are content. However the fact that the person you were responding to didn't agree, makes that your opinion. SE is selling items in the cash shop, that much is certain, but whether those items count as content is up for debate, as proven in this very thread. People disagree on it, because they have different "opinions" on what constitutes content. Again, you can feel strongly about it, and believe that you're right, but it's still an opinion, nothing more, nothing less.
