Add a cash shop currency.

So in a lot of free to play games with a cash shop, they will have a premium currency (bought with money) that can be used to buy items for yourself and also to gift to others. But they also have a "free" currency, that you obtain by watching sponsored videos or completing surveys. This currency can only be used to buy items for yourself.

I think it would be nice if this system would be implemented into the ffxiv cash shop, just as an alternative to paying for these items. You already have crysta, maybe add impure crysta as a free currency for use in the cash shop.

Basically, what I think OP is getting at is that most F2P games have a way of earning cash shop currency in-game, whether through quests, achievements/deeds or things like that. And I think that's what he wants added.

Of course, most F2P games I've tried out has the in-game earned cash shop currency being the exact same as the RL-money bought cash shop currency, so... *shrugs* I don't quite see the point of having two cash shop currencies (not that we have a 'cash shop currency' today, since FF14 cash shop items are bought directly through RL money).

Since this is not a trashy free to play game with even more trashy "watch this video for free stuff" offers, we will thankfully be spared this kind of bull crap.

If you can't afford the sub, don't play. Yes, I know that is harsh, but really, this is a subscription based game, so deal with it.

Yes, I agree =) I'd also have preferred if they'd kept all this F2P cash shop thing out of my FFXIV ^_~

That said, I wouldn't mind if they decided to add some way of obtaining some sort of cash shop currency in-game here in FF14, to make it possible by 'saving up' to buy that one or two cash shop items you've been wanting. After all, while you're saving that up you're still paying your sub ^^

But I'm not particularly bothered by the lack of such a means either. And while I don't approve of cash shop items apart from account services (name change, server change and, to a degree, fantasias), I'm not at the stage of waving some sort of torch-and-pitchfork combination at SE either =D
