This makes me wonder if maybe the garleans are also dealing with a religious faction, or delt with one, and that's partially why they have such zeal in their quest to stomp out the primals, with genocide and conquest being their primary method of getting stuff done. I mean people wouldn't just be that way, right? Something had to make them like that.

I mean, the Garleans are more or less trying to build their own version of the Allagan Empire, right? And much of their technology is reverse-engineered from artifacts recovered from Allagan ruins, right? There's no telling what sort of crap they dug up.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if, knowingly or not, they're actually working based on some sort of older plan the Allagans put together during or after the fourth calamity.

Well it's good to know that the Allagans did worship a god(s), but it dwindled once they focused too much on technology. I always thought the Allagan worshipped the Sun and Moon, especially the sun based on the names of some ruins: Allagan Sun/moon way .... Allagan Sun Temple in Carteneau Flats

Even Xande has the image of the sun in his loin cloth:

Just because some Allagans/ Garleans don't worship god(s) it doesn't mean that some symbols of those gods aren't used in their iconagraphy/art. This can be seen in our own modern day world, too

Might be a bit of a stretch, but:
Menphina -- She is most often depicted as a maid carrying a round skillet.
.... that's one way to hold a "skillet" I suppose

If this is true then we have Sun Miqo'tes and Moon Miqo'tes so they must be Allagan creation and are compelled to upkeep places of worship
    Just kidding

So if Late Allagan Era (time of Clone Xande) made it so that most abandoned Religion (maybe by force too since Xande saw himself as God-King) then the Cathedral we see that's full of Azeyma symbols might very well be the last remnant of Sun Worshippers gathering place; it's purposeful desecration (that anchor in the center) serves to at least "warn" Azeyma worshippers.

The Devs themselves showed us the "evolution" of languages: Azys Lla > Azyslan > Ayatlan. Bahamut > Dalamud. Perhaps (as someone mentioned) Azeyma's Land > Azys Lla after 5,000 years

If we go by that, Proto-Qarn might have been an Allagan Sun Temple, would not be surprised if that's where the "Cathedral" might have originally been.

Lol, you may be joking about that, but we know the allags were in contact wiwth Miqo'te because of the CT storyline, so maybe they adopted their beliefs after learning about them, finding some credibility in them since they used the sun as a power source.

We don't though. It's the most boring possibility, but the entire thing seems to have been written with complete disregard to the complexities of Seeker family structure, almost as if making the "Son of Allag" a male Seeker was an afterthought with no broader implications intended.

Refresh my memory, was Gra'tiah line from breeding with the last princess of Allag confirmed? For some reason I thought one of his ancestors was just injected with a syringe of Allag nanotech.

We can't actually assume anything about "G'raha's ancestor," not even that he was a Miqo'te. All we know is that he was "the man [Salina] trusted most," race unknown, and that he received the royal blood (along with her memories) through presumably the same means used to empower the other tower operators (as described in the XIV'th Legion tomestone Nero gave Cid). Japanese script says it was a spell, English script says is was some sort of tech, though I suspect they were much the same thing to Allagans in those days. Either way, all we know is that G'raha is specifically not descended from the royal line, though his "ancestor" was probably an Allagan citizen.

The fate of Salina afterwards, as well as whether or not she had offspring of her own, is entirely unknown. Going by Salina's portrayal in FFIII (a bedridden village girl with zero character development), I suspect she was extremely frail, so probably incapable of having children of her own, and that this is what prompted her to pass her blood and memories on to someone who could. But I know this is all speculation on details that will probably never matter.

I'm of the opinion that Salina probably passed down her "blood memories" to her most trusted miqo'te retainer and it would not surprise me if Salina was a also a sickly girl

    (complete speculation)

I kinda hope of some more information regarding that in specific. As we know Meracydia fell before the Earthquake(syrcus tower quest cutcene, one of the last ones)Also there is a reference about the ''people of meracydia'' (it got my attention since it said people instead of dragon/wyrm so led me to believe there is a somehow humanoid or an inteligent beast tribe, yet can be exactly the dragons, they live for long and are inteligent enough.

If miqo'te are from meracydia, it would make sense for the Keepers of moon(i cant be sure on that but i remember a reference about Menphina red moon.)Praised or atleast ''respected dalamud''. Growing as a mith, the same way Twelveswood moogles with King Mog.

Taking in mind that, i can actually imagine Selina and the ''revolutionary'' citizens, some of them to be in fact miqo'te. I can see miqo'te (if things are like i said above) joining the rebellion to bring an end to Xande and his plans.

    (speculation ends)
