    Are we still getting info on class changes today?

    Alongside the overhaul to the algorithms, work is also proceeding on redefining and redistributing abilities for Disciples of War and Magic. This is a hefty amount of work, and not all classes will be ready by patch 1.19. But rather than a partial release, we’ve decided to save the implementation of all classes for 1.20. We’ll make the details of the planned changes available when 1.19 goes live, and monitor player feedback as a way to help define our direction. In the meantime, we’ll keep on performing balance tweaks to the current class system in coming sub-patches based on ongoing feedback from the community.

    I wanted to ask this during the live event, but I'm not so great with Twitter and it never posted.

    I know there's a lot going on today, and I'm grateful for the hard work of everyone at SE. But, I was wondering if we were still going to get what Yoshi-P mentioned in the quote above?

    I know a lot of players that are like myself and have been waiting for this to decide what to level, especially if it'll finally hint at who gets to be Black Mage.

    Yeah, I knew I was a bit early, was just hoping to snag a comm rep's attention before they go home.

    Like I said, was hoping it'd come up in today's live letter but I have a hunch not till the one in late October since it focuses on 1.20 and beyond.

    I believe they already started with this with the different abilities and actions changed and made unique for each class on the 1.19 patch notes. That is what they were reffering to in the quote. No?

    •[dev1032] The action "Guard" has been abolished.
    Blocking with a shield is automated, with the block rate determined by a number of factors, including shield stats.


    •[dev1032] The effect of enhanced attack power (granted by actions such as Ferocity) no longer stack with element-based actions such as Red Lotus.


    •[dev1032] The following actions have been adjusted:

    Class Action Adjustment
    Pugilist Featherfoot / Featherfoot II ・MP regeneration added.
    Victimize / Victimize II ・Now decreases target's attack power.
    ・Recast time raised from 10 to 60 seconds
    ・Now a pugilist-exclusive action.
    Gladiator Cadence ・Increases the attack power of your next offensive ability while in Battle Regimen mode. → Increases enmity incurred by your next attack.
    Rage of Halone ・Increases attack power in proportion to the amount of damage sustained while readying. → Increases attack power in proportion to the difference between your maximum and current HP.
    Self-Preservation ・Increases the length of your guard ability by 50%. → Increase the chance to block by 5%.
    Marauder Murderous Intent ・Increases critical hit rate and reduces TP generation. → Increases critical attack power.
    ・Recast time raised from 60 to 180 seconds
    Maim ・Potency of defense reduction effect increased.
    ・Recast time reaised from 10 to 60 seconds
    ・Effect duration reduced from 30 to 10 seconds.
    ・Now a marauder-exclusive action.
    Archer Multishot ・The effect of enhanced attack power granted by certain statuses will be shared across the number of arrows nocked.
    Lancer Keen Flurry ・Increases accuracy while in Battle Regimen mode. → Next weaponskill is not subject to a recast time.
    Twisting Vice ・Reduces the target's TP. → Erases the target's TP.
    ・Recast time raised from 10 to 60 seconds
    ・TP cost raised from 1000 to 1500
    ・Now a lancer-exclusive action.
    Line of Fire ・Redirects a portion of damage dealt to you to an enemy positioned between you and the source of the damage. → Reduces enmity in proportion to the amount of damage you sustain.
    Conjurer Roaming Soul ・No longer conceals casting movement.
    Flare ・Now affects a single target.
    ・Recast time raised from 10 to 90 seconds.
    * These six actions share a recast timer.
    Freeze
    Tornado
    Quake
    Burst
    Flood
    Misc. Aegis Boon ・Effect duration raised from 15 to 30 seconds.
    Outmaneuver ・Effect duration raised from 15 to 30 seconds.
    Deflection ・Effect duration raised from 15 to 30 seconds.

    They also commented today that in 1.20 there will be major spells and action changes. He commented on the Ancient Magic spells specifically. I know its not what you were probably looking for, but it adds to it /shrug

    That's what got me wondering about if they'd finally hint at which Mage is which.

    @Holland: I assumed that list was the general balancing he mentioned in the quote.

    lol that murderous intent is a further gimpening of an already lackluster gimp ability. last thing MRD needs is even less slower TP gain.

    I guess, like I am assuming the OP was too, I was under the impression that classes were going to receive more drastic and fundamental changes. However, I am now under the impression they just might receive tweaks (similar to what has been done in this patch). Would be great to get word on how complete the current classes are.

    yeah I assumed this was the start he was mentioning that would make the cut for 1.19 while the rest will be pushed back to 1.20
