Current Evaluation/Status of Astrologian and Ideas for Improvement

No, AST needs changes. It is not "fine."

It needs card buffs. SE needs to rid us of getting the same damn card you're trying to get rid of every time you Shuffle. It needs changes to Synastry (shorter cool down), Celestial Opposition (a bunch of changes needed - see above), Collective Unconscious (remove the inability to do anything) and Essential Dignity (shorter cool down as this is our ONLY emergency heal). It needs a range change to Aspected Helios.

The only aspect I feel is great now is the MP management of it. I never have any MP problems anymore.

Secondly aspected helios is fine.. Ever thought that it might of been u standing in the wrong place or that u attempted to heal whilst everyone was scattered

Not the only person. There are more people who know the astro is fine then care to put up with this drama filled forum just to try to counter the 5+ new threads a day trashing a job that is not trash. Astro is powerful if you know how to properly use your cards as I said in the past. If I can increase a machinist dps by 120 through an entire right not even counting my personal dps people seem to not care about trying to find the average means the cards give in power to our group mates.

Only thing I can agree with is white mage is more popular because both astro and white mages are nearly healing par for par until crap hits the fan and the sustain healing strength of the white mage is what brings it on top of the astrologian in cutting edge progression. People care more about survival then individual buff strength in raids for the most part.

If they allowed a third healer in raids then the astrologian would be utilized as much as the white mage. That is the real reason no one is talking about. It is a paradigm of one job will have to sit out because of how the raids are formed around two healers.

Yhisa and Vlady - do you guys play any other healer job? Try doing content with the same party composition using AST then switch to either SCH or WHM. Record the fights and watch them again, see if you still believe AST is on the same page as SCH/WHM.

She has AST at 60 , arcanist(sch or smn idk) at 50 and cnj(whm) at 48.
she obviously have no idea of what she's talking about.
You can just ignore Vlady, he has absolutelly no idea either (only AST at 60 no other healing job at 60, both SCH and WHM at 50), he keeps spitting nonsense on these forums.

Actually there are not. There are approximately 5-6 people (yourself included) that feel AST is fine and in great shape. There are countless people both here (both in the NA and JA sections of the forum), in game and even on Reddit who know it's not fine, hence why there are countless threads about it's shortcomings. Hell, we even have other DPS and tanks who play in parties alongside AST that know they need to be balanced by SE.

Reddit I would take with a grain of salt and the Japenese forum has a focused thread on the subject not countless threads as you claim. And oddly if you go through most of the pages it seems to talk about the astrologian outfit as much as its design.

And I love how people do not read my posts since the 180 number I spoke of being personal dps with just dots ticking so try doing something simple that anyone can do and go into a few dungeons with a friend dps and see that the average dps of your friend rises and then post your results. It is oddly less discrepancy then most would think. Between arrow/tp/balance it provides a very strong power up to dps.

I might take you a bit more seriously if you had actually completed any hard content as an AST OR even had SCH and WHM leveled to 60. But, considering you have not accomplished either of these things, I will continue to view your opinion as fairly baseless.

This annoys me alot where people screaming about buffs that we are weak.. When we are not weak we just lack 1 cooldown to increase our healing.. I run with war DRG mnk so I rotate there mantra as my healing cooldown ... With cards spear is the only card that needs a fix and the range of our expand... The other skills are fine.. The stun + extend buffs is nice.... The bubble is nice for phase swaps or lazy healing (hot stacking) lol @ healing when ravana does his sword dance... The thing is players are not using there toolkit correctly.... My fc loves me as AST and do not want me to change all I'm doing is waiting for our scholar to gear up abit to do Alex savage
