Paypal issues (I don't have/want a creditcard!)

Greetings SE,

Recently when I tried adding Crysta to my account via Paypal, the proces asks me to add a creditcard to complete the purchase. The whole reason I'm using paypal is because I don't have, and I don't want, to use a creditcard and it's the entire reason I'm using Paypal for international transaction to begin with. It's troublesome because I've payed for Crysta before with my Paypal without any problems, but am now unable to do so. And just in case, my bank account has been verified since 2009, with always enough credit and zero payment problems.

Update: It seems when I clicked the "open new account" on the new Paypal screen, I was directed to the old version of the login site with the folding-out menus for opening said new account, but most importantly, one for the old "login to pay". Hope this helps others a bit who have trouble paying for Crysta otherwise.

You can also use your ATM Debit Card from your bank if you have one. That's what I use for my Paypal account since I don't have a credit card.

Paypal needs a credit card or bank card as verification. Paypal is just a gate. So stick a bank account to your Paypal account and you can pay with it.

I think you missed it when I said "... my bank account has been verified since 2009, with always enough credit and zero payment problems." My bank account has been strapped to Paypal through their verification by deposit method since 2009, just never needed to verify an actual card before.

I have the same gripe as the OP, I don't really want a credit card. Was the whole reason of getting a Paypal account and having it connected to my bank account. It's also a good way to control your online spending too.

What's even worse about this, is Playspan managed it with no issues right? Most other MMO's I've played (not F2P) also have never done this with paypal either. The kicker is going to the SE main site and buying a game time card with paypal....just all kinds of wrong.

Sometimes you just have to laugh and shake your head at this stuff though, it is a tad annoying though. Since anyone with this issue won't be able to buy any account stuff, or the Mogstation shop items. SE doesn't want the money then so be it, if they did they wouldn't have paypal set up like this for them.

I had this a few weeks ago, logging out of paypal (going to the website and manually logging out), would allow me to pay without the annoying "please add an credit card to your account, to complete your account" notification.

Last guy to post on there might be of interest, Paypal is very secure as it is, I wouldn't have bothered linking my bank account to it if it wasn't after all. Makes no sense from a business point.
That answers that though, don't think they have an interest in changing things. Again very strange that they don't have this limitation setup on their official SE site for buying game time cards, seems a little two faced to me.
