Hooksets, inefficient hooking and a hope for a small change

I don't mind that they gave us a reason to use GP finally as a fisher, it's kind of great actually. While I do think there could be some adjustments for the GP cost for a few abilities that isnt the point of this post.

So as I think most of us that do fish for blue/red scrips have noticed if you're mid cast towards the end of the patience buff and it falls off you retain your hook debuff even though it falls off. And the worst part is, you cant even use a hookset the moment the buff falls off. I've lost too many lures to this that I dont even bother to try to cast again if the buff is under 30 seconds because it's not worth the cost.

All I'd like to see is for them to make it so the buff/debuff stay until the end of the last cast used during it. This would change nothing as the buff/debuff already stay active during the cast in the background yet keeps us locked out of hooksets. It would just let us actually take advantage of what is already there and use the abilities we should have access to during that last cast.

I agree with this. If the fish has yet to bite, and your buff wears, you should not still essentially have the debuff either. Oterwise why does the debuff icon actually leave.

Yeah, it seems like the buffs/debuff are set on the moment you do your cast. Also same seems happens with fish eyes, in most of locations if buff goes off after you do ur cast, you can still get the special fish.
So i wouldnt mind if it remains as is, because too the HQ buff mostly still active in same way than debuff, so you may be lucky and pass the paticence debuff check and get the fish (and hq).
About your lures blah, not worry, goblin jig? you can get lots of them by spam leves, steel blade jig? not use it, use the new blue script baits wich have better sucess rate on special fish, or also use the spider/cricket and goes mooch option for the other special fishes that can be get. And you can get blue scripts easy with goblin jig, (some of the leves for it you can get the fish with spider), if your level too low for the leves or cant access the area go level up/do msq, is faster & better than keep loosing money in worthless lures.
