Hello everyone!

In another thread, someone mentioned that they wish they could get things translated like when Reyhart used to back in the day. Rey actually used to work with me and compare translations a lot, but the thread we used to do so in is in archive (since it was from 1.0 days).

So, I thought I'd resurrect it and give people a place to ask to have things translated, and do some translating of the Japanese forum from time to time. Anyone else with skill in Japanese is welcome to help out with translating and answering questions here as well.

No, not the wrong idea. I'll take a look at the JP healer board and AST topics and try to give you a consensus (if there is one). ^_^

Ok, so there's a really big thread all about AST in the healer forum. It's 193 pages... o.O

In any case, it would appear that their main concern is the Cards. There's a lot of discussion on whether there's any point to them and how a lot of them aren't very useful.

There's also debate on whether the class is too weak or not. Some claim it definitely is, others that it just seems like it is because people don't know how to use the job well. But there's a general consensus that the image of AST is that they are weak and that for difficult content, it's common for parties to want WHM or SCH instead because of the fear that AST might be too weak.

Finally, there's worry/complaint about AST MP problems. WHM and SCH have reliable ways to regain MP, but AST seems to run out of MP often.

All that being said, there is still a lot of positive posts saying they love the class, but would just like to see some improvements. And most agree that the job is viable, just tuned a little low.

I just want to chime in early here and say that I think this is a great idea for a thread, and I hope it helps to bridge the gap that (At least I feel) exists between the JP community and the NA/EU community. I know there are several times when I would like to know what the JP community is thinking on a subject, and now there will be a place to check to see if anyone else is wondering the same thing. I just hope you don't get overwhelmed with requests. :P This could turn in to a full-time job. :P

Would like to know what Japanese people think about Dragoons, especially about the 4th tier skill (Fang&Claw / Wheeling Thrust), not sure how the skill is named in Japanese, though, thanks Kaedan!

I'd love to get hired by SE to just be the "bridge" between JP and EN players. But barring that, yeah, responses will be based on when I have the time. Which is also why I invite anyone with Japanese skill to help out!

Q: I would like to know what the JP community thinks about end game in FFXIV.
For example: Do they like the structure as it is? Do they want to see longer, progressive raids like FFXI's Dynamis or LotRo?

This is a very good idea.

I'd be interested to hear a very brief overview of how they feel tank classes are currently balanced and how they feel each should be changed, if at all.
