    Launcher Error -2146697211 after Windows 10 Upgrade.



    Finally Fixed it, the culprit is indeed Windows Defender. However, if you had my issue, you couldn't disable Windows Defender because it was not not being used since you have Avast (or another Anti Virus) program running, so you must disable your current Anti Virus first then you can disable Windows Defender.

    This is how I fixed it, I use Avast so I will use that as reference. Right click Avast and disable it.



    Then open your windows search bar and type Windows Defender and go to the settings.



    Now the Windows Defender settings shouldn't be greyed out, if it is, you may need to reboot your computer. Now you can TURN OFF EVERYTHING IN WINDOWS DEFENDER.



    Now enjoy.



    DO NOT FORGET TO TURN YOUR AVAST BACK ON!!!!!!!!

    I have the same issue, but resetting the router/modem did nothing. Ruled out avast! and it seems to be my ISP (Shaw in BC Canada), but I am still trying to troubleshoot it.

    I fixed this after upgrading to Windows 10 just a few minutes ago. I enabled the shortcut flag for "Run as Administrator". If it's on your taskbar, right click the shortcut and then when the small popup window shows, right click on the "Final Fantasy XIV" icon at the top of the list and choose "properties".

    In the Compatibility tab mark the "Run this program as Administrator" checkbox and hit "OK".

    If you want you can right-click the shortcut each time and choose "Run as Administrator", but that gets tedious.

    Thanks, but it was one of the things listed that i tried, it doesn't work for me. I'm glad it fixed it for you though.

    The only way I can get around this is by rebooting. If my PC sits for too long, it breaks and I cannot log in.

    I am still trying to figure out what it was that I did to get this to work. It was either
    A) https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/down....aspx?id=40784
    B) I disabled Kaspersky.

    I installed the C++ redist and tried launching and got the error. So I disabled Kaspersky and it loaded. But then when I un paused Kaspersky, the launcher loaded again... So I am not sure which it was that fixed it. I will reply again if it doesn't load again.

    AVG User - Windows 10 issues

    Not sure what happened between my original installation of Windows 7 and subsequent upgrade to Windows 10, but I had this issue as well.

    Tried adding the files as exceptions, no joy. Paused AVG for 10 minutes and had no issues getting to the sign-in screen. Definite anti-virus issues. Not sure what the workaround is at the moment, will advise if I find anything further.
