Wow I didn't even know there existed a way to tab to minions. Why would anyone have that enabled? O_o Also tab is very handy indeed, though a little buggy in some cases.
Thanks for clearing that up!![]()

Being able to name them would be fantastic, and turn off the owners name display.
But I do not want to see them in dungeons. I am trying to fight, not squee at your recent fluffy find.
Then.. don't? Unless you mean you personally would be distracted and compelled to squee instead of fight.
I've played other games where pets in dungeons (and raids) is a thing and it rarely if ever causes issues, certainly not that of distraction.
I do agree with having nameplates off except perhaps if targeted.

She meant exactly that. (^_~ )
I mean, i can totally see it happen. A healer seeing a Red Panda clinging to a Lala’s head:

What will you do if they add Gaelicats or something else super cute to a dungeon one day as mobs, stop fighting and squee at that?
This is why we can't have nice things!
It attacked me first. All bets are off.
Seriously though... have you thought about WoD or other future alliance raids?
Not only is it extra clutter and stress on the instance but a 24 strong Dancing moogle sphere in the middle of a large fight is going to be SOMEWHAT distracting.
Not to mention... what if your minion gets killed during the fight... you would relive the traumatic event each time you stepped into the dungeon and be reduced to a sobbing mess while your party members yell 'Heal me!!!' or the like.

Wouldn't mind minions in duties if they were not targetable at all. I can just imagine it in A2 Savage where there are more monsters than the enemy list can hold, everyone is stacked up, and I'm in the gobwalker desperately trying to find the bomb and the only way to quickly target it is to click it ... and I keep clicking on someone's %&*@ing panda.
Do really wish chocobo and minions weren't exclusive of each other.
This is why I suggested maybe not in 8-mans.Wouldn't mind minions in duties if they were not targetable at all. I assume you can make targetting macros in this game... can you? It would be silly if you couldn't. :<Wouldn't mind minions in duties if they were not targetable at all. re: accidentally clicking on minions when the enemy list is full of stuff -
Unless I'm plain unaware of the option, making a macro to target a specific enemy is not possible. /targetenemy just targets the nearest enemy and /target only works on PCs. Therefore for minions in duties to work in a large aoe situation where you have to find the needle in the haystack (eg A2S) they would have to not be targetable at all.
