System-> Character Configuration->Control Settings->Filters->Enable Target Cycling->While Weapon is Drawn->Minionsre: accidentally clicking on minions when the enemy list is full of stuff -
Unless I'm plain unaware of the option, making a macro to target a specific enemy is not possible. /targetenemy just targets the nearest enemy and /target only works on PCs. Therefore for minions in duties to work in a large aoe situation where you have to find the needle in the haystack (eg A2S) they would have to not be targetable at all.

Won't happen cause PS3 Limitations™.

I don't use a controller, and even if I did, target cycling through 8+ mobs when you have a 4 second window to yoink a bomb out of the wiggling mass is sketchy at best. I'd rather click a nameplate. If minions were allowed in duties and still were targetable, that might be a serious targeting issue .

This is for savage that there's a 4 second window? and on savage there are more mobs to contend with so that bomb doesn't show up on your enmity list?I don't use a controller, and even if I did, target cycling through 8+ mobs when you have a 4 second window to yoink a bomb out of the wiggling mass is sketchy at best. My friend had (what I think is) a really spiffy idea. If they gave special buffs/bonuses to each of the minions, it would make them a lot more fun to collect, and actually useful!
These would just be minor things like regen, refresh, str+, movement speed+, exp gain+, seals gain+, etc. The more rare & difficult minions could give higher returns on the buffs to make the effort spent getting it worthwhile.

I have played a game that implemented this, and it honestly made the pet system really unfun. People cared more about min-maxing, which of course means requiring higher end pets and potentially pets you don't even really like. I just want my Dodo to hang out with me. Sometimes I like to "pretend" it's my companion (instead of Chocobo) when I do easy hunts, but I wouldn't actually want it to grant a benefit. Just an aesthetic quality of life change is all I ask.My friend had (what I think is) a really spiffy idea. PC players swear by mouse targeting, something that aggravated me to no end. They don't tab, and having sucked at driving the gob buggy I can see why. Tab tends to cycle though closest to farthest and if the bomb is the farthest you're going to be hitting tab alot. Having someone's minion hopping around being cute while you're trying to click on a mob just past it will make for some very angry PC players. Also, I DO have minions set to untargetable and I still sometimes target the blighters, so even that setting isn't foolproof. No, best solution is to not have them in dungeons at all.
allow smn to use minions as skins for their pets (for garuda, let them glow yellow, for ifrite glow red and titan glow orange..., so everyone knows which pet is being used and that its a pet..)
edit: and allow sch and mch too.. (add other glow colors or mini symboles for the diffrent classes.., on cost of some animations)

Your whole post is about an 8-man raid which at least I've repeatedly stated I am not trying to access. Also what about the solution of having a toggleable feature that prevents the click-targeting of minions? Like honestly there are a lot of options here, not just one. All I'd like to see is minions come to 4-mans and also be out with the Chocobo. It's that simple. There are workarounds I've suggested implementing for those who don't even want them in 4-mans (goodness, I hope you never step foot into another MMO), but they keep being ignored by people who keep bringing up the Bomb issue in Alexander which is completely and totally irrelevant to everything I've written on the matter.
It would be really nice if people would stay on topic. Or at least read the suggestions they're protesting against.

I honestly don't know what this post is saying or what it has to do with my thread. This isn't about guardian pets/summons/turrets/fairies/whatever. Everyone knows what they are already.allow smn to use minions as skins for their pets (for garuda, let them glow yellow, for ifrite glow red and titan glow orange..., so everyone knows which pet is being used and that its a pet..)

edit: Ok my BF explained to me what you mean. I think that would be very confusing even with glows (distracting imo) as much as my Scholar would love to have Dodeos (forcing me to return to maining Scholar, of course). It's an interesting suggestion nonetheless but doesn't really have to do with what I'm asking for in this thread. Sorry.
