    question about bismarck

    I got a question about bismarck.

    What exactly is he doing while you are on his back that hurts the player? Says something to the effect of "aetherial disruption" but what is that in layman's terms, is he slow cooking our innards or something?

    Either the wind around him is being effected or he's literally trying to suck our aether (Aka lifeforce/souls) out of out bodies while we're in physical contact with him.

    I would argue that, as a massive concentration of wind, water, and lightning aether, being in contact with Bismarck throws our internal aetherial balance out of whack.

    But that's just me...

    I always forget Bismark is made of three diffrent types of aether. Thats probably the case there concidering the name of the debuff.

    Just wind and water.

    As for the debuff, you can reason it away with just about anything, as nothing is confirmed, but I find the aether-sucking rationale posed by Kaiser preferable.

    So thunder is just here because why not?

    That said I also prefer kaiser's hypothesis as well

    Well, the game specifically states that both Bismark and Ravana are of two elements. However, as it was pointed out earlier today, there is a connection to a third element.

    The only clue I've picked up so far, seeing as Bismark precedes Ravana, is that they follow the elemental creation wheel;

    Water + Wind = Bismark + Lightning, Fire + Earth = Ravana + Ice

    Further significance of their bonus elements, though, remains illusive.

    EDIT: Of course, the developers could have just picked two sets of elements at random, made the primals of them and then tacked the remaining elements on to use them all up, making way for the shift in focus toward Eikons.

    I was just basing my guess on the fact Bismarck uses some lightning attacks during the fight. Either way, the debuff is called "Aetherial Disruption" and while he does draw aether from his surroundings Bismarck literally eats the islands to regain his strength...

    ... anything explicitly stating Ravana and Bismarck are "only" dual-element primals? I don't recall any such information being in-game...

    Thus my theory on the DoT dammage. Up till now we've only fought primals a few times bigger than us. The fact that Bismark was not only flying, but the largest primal we've faced yet ment we had to actually RIDE the primal. Which could have indeed made us vulnerable to the Aether Osmosis that primals use on their surroundings.
