Why your Party Finder SUCKS (aka why no one joins your pf)

Since HW released it seems people have forgotten how to have accurate, enticing, and relevant information in their PF as I see these people get 0 people joining over the course of an hour. Here's a very simple guide to improve your PFs



Why does your PF exist?
Is it to farm, to clear, or to troll? Make it clear to everyone by writing clear, farm, or troll in the description so people know what they are getting in on.

Why are you the only on in there?
Why not ask your FC or LS before setting up the PF? Studies have shown people are 8x more likely to join a PF if there is at least 2 people already in there (citation needed).

Feel free to sound encouraging.
Saying 'bonus welcome' instead of 'no noobs' will get people joining if it's a clear, and saying 'quick runs' instead of 'you fail, I kick' will get people joining if it's a farm. Basically, don't sound like a dick.


tl:dr put some effort into your PF descriptions lest you rage that no one is joining you to help you clear/farm content.

Seriously, this.

Even when I'm looking for a farm party, I avoid the ones that say "no noobz!" or "2 mistakes and I burn your family!" Not because I'm going to make mistakes or am a noob, but because that attitude is really unpleasant to be around.

Spotted an A2 farm in PF the other day, polite and well written description, sat there for nearly 50 minutes though with just a DPS and Healer in it.

I joined in as Warrior, about a minute later the group filled and we started.

So there is a kernel of truth there lol

You forgot about that ridiculous item level requirement. It's even more ridiculous if it's an undersized/unsynced Titan EX.

If I'm setting up a PF for something, it's not to be nice. You're not joining because I'm nice. You're joining to get something done. If that means I have to specifically post a message saying I will kick you if you bring a bonus to my farm party, then that's exactly what I'm putting in there. Case in point, my Rav Ex farm last night. Straight to the point. "Rav EX Farm. Clear required. Bring bonus, get kicked." And what happened? I got 7 mostly competent people in my party, who had no bonus attached, and we did 12 runs before some members had to get to work. Compare this to other parties which try to be nice about it, and create a farm party that requires "experience". 9 times out of 10, a player with a bonus appears, nobody kicks them, it's a wipefest, and the group disbands before a single clear. Being nice is great and all, for a happy, peppy clear or learning group. But if you're nice when you're actually trying to get something done? You're never going to do it with the type of player that will show up.

Honesty seems useful, truth in advertising, etc. Makes it easy to identify what groups to avoid or pursue depending on needs or wants.
